52 years old and not much out there on him being a real successful DB coach let alone DC. Anyone still want to say that Taylor has ever had a plan from the start?

Giants DB’s were atrocious last year. Not excited about this at all. Starting to not like this regime

this was a statement by a Miami fan where he spent most of his years as a DB coach. Its whatever at this point they need someone in place for the combine and evaluate the position next year.

Worth also noting that Anarumo took over DC in Miami from Kevin Coyle in 2015.
Dolphins were 19th in points allowed, 25th in yards allowed that year. The defense was actually worse with Anarumo at DC than with Coyle based on calculated averages per game of Coyle's games in 2015 (4) vs Anarumo (12).

He built a very solid young secondary while there. Just a few years ago Flores was nothing but a LB coach for the Pats and he had one year as "DC" before getting the Miami gig. People get all caught up with experience but honestly all coaches at that level know football. It's more important he is in on the vision for how Taylor wants to build the team and philosophically manage games.

If we were hiring him to be a DB coach that would matter. In the end your success as a positional coach doesn't really equate to how well you'll be as a coordinator anymore than success as a coordinator doesn't project to HC success. Each advancement has duties that go beyond day to day coaching.

RE: New DC frontrunner? - Schmitbuck - 02-19-2019

Make it happen. I'm assuming we'll make some solid additions to LB in free agency/draft. If we don't see enough improvement this year over last year's D, cut bait and hire someone better EARLY next off season.

Well, people were wanting more experience on the staff. Anarumo would bring 30 years of that.

you would think if he was close to capable this wouldn't be his first call to the roll(considering how long he has been coaching)...  interm aside

Precisely. We need strategic thinkers.

Again I could have made that argument for Eberflus in Indy last year who had a similar career path yet he turned in possibly the stand out performance of the year from a coordinator stand point.

This guy was DC at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy from 1992–1994.

Anyone know if they ran a 4-3 or 3-4?  Hilarious

RE: New DC frontrunner? - Jojo the Circus Boy - 02-19-2019

At this point, I will give the guy a chance. And maybe Landon Collins will follow him here. A man can hope!
