NFL front seven rankings: All 32 teams after 17 weeks - THE PISTONS - 03-02-2019 25. CINCINNATI BENGALS Geno Atkins and the Bengals pass rush was still formidable at times, but they paired it with easily the worst linebacking corps in the NFL. Their linebackers allowed 1,806 yards in their coverage this season – 284 more than any other group in the league. YES - Our LB's gave up 1,806 yards receiving! 284 yards worse than the next group!!!!! That's why we didn't get sacks. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-nfl-front-seven-rankings-all-32-teams-after-17-weeks RE: NFL front seven rankings: All 32 teams after 17 weeks - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 03-02-2019 (03-02-2019, 05:05 PM)THE PISTONS Wrote: 25. CINCINNATI BENGALS Thought so, terrible under Haslett. Hopefully Tem is a much better Linebacker coach and he gets a couple talented dudes to work with. It was really unfair to our D-line how all a QB had to do was just dump it off on screens and it would go for first downs. Frustrating as hell. We need to get some LB's to shut that shit down. Punish the RB or whoever when they try and dump it off. RE: NFL front seven rankings: All 32 teams after 17 weeks - McC - 03-02-2019 (03-02-2019, 05:05 PM)THE PISTONS Wrote: 25. No doubt. The yardage they gave up receiving is staggering. TE's are traditionally who a RB covers and those guys generally aren't 1000 yard receivers. Staggering that we gave up 1800+ yards. 284 more yards than the next group. I can't even fathom how mad that was. You know when the pass rush got close that they could just dump it to a TE or RB. RE: NFL front seven rankings: All 32 teams after 17 weeks - Thundercloud - 03-03-2019 I thought our poor linebacker play was readily apparent without the need for a lot of stats. The most apparent weakness was a total lack of speed at the position, which could be seen not only in the passing game, but against the run, also. Yep ! It's the domino effect Then you add in a mostly ineffective RDE, injuries to Glasgow and others and it's no wonder Geno and Carlos didn't have good seasons. That said, people during the year thought our defensive line AND secondary was bad too. The stats show that a lot of that perceptions comes from the LB play. People even bashed Geno some for not getting sacks. A decent bit of that was on the LB's for poor play. It's the domino effect It was a small sample size, but Glasgow was playing at a really high level. He wasn't grading out as a Pro Bowl player, but a really solid DT. RE: NFL front seven rankings: All 32 teams after 17 weeks - impactplaya - 03-03-2019 Marvin and Haslet were so steadfast on bringing in aging LBs who strength was being a run stoppers. this isnt 2002 anymore |
