Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - ochocincos - 03-15-2019 According to https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/cap/2019/, the Bengals have $42.5 mill cap space remaining. Details: - This DOES include Bobby Hart - This does NOT include CJ Uzomah (average about $6 mill per year), Preston Brown (average about $7 mill per year), and BW Webb (average about $4.33 mill per year) = $17.33 mill per year - This does NOT have 2018 draft reserves, injury reserves, or extension reserves in there ($15-20 mill combined?) We need to see the year-by-year details of the three contracts above, but the Bengals should now be around $25 mill cap space remaining. With the draft, injury reserve, and possible extension reserve, the Bengals probably realistically only have ~$5-10 mill more that they could put toward FAs this year. EDIT - 3/18: Per Albert Breer yesterday, Bengals now have ~$25 mill remaining cap space. The cap hits for 2019 ended up being less for Preston Brown ($4.7 mill) and BW Webb ($3 mill). This allowed the team to also sign John Miller and re-sign Tyler Eifert, which are not reflected in Spotrac or OverTheCap yet. RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - Okeana - 03-15-2019 my assumption is they are also going to sign Boyd to an extension this year and then you have to factor in AJ Green's extension if they don't trade him. let's also take into account Boling is up next year along with Giovani RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - Fullrock - 03-15-2019 Of course they can open up quite a bit of cap space by cutting players like Burfict and Michael Johnson. Just Burflict. Johnson's contract expired. Michael Johnson isn't signed and currently isn't on the cap RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - Fullrock - 03-15-2019 (03-15-2019, 11:59 AM)Okeana Wrote: Michael Johnson isn't signed and currently isn't on the cap Oh yeah, duh. Lol. RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - Fullrock - 03-15-2019 They can save 5.5 mil on the 2019 cap by cutting Burfict. RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - THE PISTONS - 03-15-2019 Can we cut Bobby Hart to free up cap space? RE: Approximate current cap remaining 3/15 - SErebel11 - 03-15-2019 Current roster (Listed those who are most likely on the 53 man roster barring injury or draft upgrade) This includes cutting Burfict. Also includes signing Boyd to a 4/32m deal with 7m of it this season as a roster bonus Offense: QB1 Dalton QB2 Driskell HB1 Mixon HB2 Bernard HB3 HB4 LT Glenn RT OT Hart OG Boling OG Westerman OL Hopkins OL Redmond OG C Price WR1 Green WR2 Boyd WR3 Ross WR4 Erickson WR5 Malone WR6 TE1 TE2 Uzomah TE3 TE4 Carter/Schreck/Tate Defense: DT1 Atkins DT2 Billings DT3 Glasgow DT4 Tupua DE1 Dunlap DE2 Willis DE3 Hubbard DE4 Lawson DL LB1 LB2 LB3 P.Brown LB4 Vigil LB5 Evans LB6 Jefferson CB1 Kirkpatrick CB2 Jackson III sCB Webb CB4 Russell CB5 Phillips CB6 Harris/Mcrae FS Bates III SS Williams S Fejedelem S Wilson LS: Harris P: Huber K: Bullock That is 43/53 under roster. That leaves the Bengals with $36,732,113 in cap space. Subtract off the Bengals approximate draft pool $9,641,984 Subtract off $10,000,000 that they will stay under the cap for injury etc That would leave around 17m for free agency. Bengals could also switch some of the money in an AJ extension to bonus say 3/45 and 9m bonus and have 23m available in cap space and add 5 solid pieces. For instance, Sign LB Zach Brown 3/21m 7m per Trade 6th round pick for LB Darron Lee 2m -.5m 6th round pick value =1.5m Sign Eifert 1/5m Sign DE Ben Mayowa 2/8M Sign G John Miller 3/16.5m Then the roster headed into the draft would look like this Offense: QB1 Dalton QB2 Driskell HB1 Mixon HB2 Bernard HB3 HB4 LT Glenn RT OT Hart OG Boling OG Westerman OL Hopkins OL Redmond OG Miller C Price WR1 Green WR2 Boyd WR3 Ross WR4 Erickson WR5 Malone WR6 TE1 Eifert TE2 Uzomah TE3 TE4 Carter/Schreck/Tate Defense: DT1 Atkins DT2 Billings DT3 Glasgow DT4 Tupua DE1 Dunlap DE2 Willis DE3 Hubbard DE4 Lawson DL Mayowa LB1 Z. Brown LB2 Lee LB3 P.Brown LB4 Vigil LB5 Evans LB6 Jefferson CB1 Kirkpatrick CB2 Jackson III sCB Webb CB4 Russell CB5 Phillips CB6 Harris/Mcrae FS Bates III SS Williams S Fejedelem S Wilson LS: Harris P: Huber K: Bullock *Edited-Had been typing this out and just saw Miller signed. Hit his number and years right on the mark though! |
