Scooter out 8-12 weeks - Yojimbo - 03-23-2019 Scooter has a grow-in strain, out 2-3 months. That Iglesias signing is paying off already. Bell says Peraza moving to 2B and Iglesias will start at SS. https://www.mlb.com/reds/news/scooter-gennett-groin-strain RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - McC - 03-23-2019 Feel bad for Scooter. Finally comes into his own and last year, the shoulder and now this. Not saying he's irreplaceable but the loss will be felt. RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - TheLeonardLeap - 03-23-2019 Iglesias-Peraza is a huge downgrade offensively from Peraza-Gennett. It basically offsets the Puig addition, and now the entire improvemrnt on offense from 2018 will have to be Senzel over Hamilton in CF. (And Votto being back to Votto ) Not sure if that is enough to push the 2018 offense (which was league average) into a playoff offense. RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - psychdoctor - 03-23-2019 It will upgrade defensive infield but proves to be costly. RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - guyofthetiger - 03-24-2019 Injuries seem to hurt the Reds lately. I have a feeling the Reds will not re-sign Scooter. Too bad. RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - grampahol - 03-25-2019 I still have a hunch this is how Senzel breaks into the big leagues eventually. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a young up and comer made it to the bigs via an injury. It's a book yet to be written though. RE: Scooter out 8-12 weeks - fredtoast - 03-27-2019 This is like a kick in the nuts. This is the first year in forever that i was excited about the reds and we lose one of our biggest stars before the season even starts. |
