Wood has setback - psychdoctor - 04-27-2019 Bad news Reds fans. Wood had a setback in recovery. Damn. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/mlb/reds/2019/04/27/alex-wood-has-setback-return-cincinnati-reds-hold/3599924002/ RE: Wood has setback - bengalfan74 - 04-28-2019 Lets hope it is indeed a minor setback. I think we're going to need 2017 Wood back down the stretch. RE: Wood has setback - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 04-28-2019 This gives Mahle a chance to learn more at the big league level. He pitches much different than Castillo but they are every similar in the fact that the first year and a half or two of their careers were filled with lots of awesome pitching performances completely ruined by two or three mistake pitches. I like Mahle's ability to pitch with a normal 90-93 MPH fastball but still dial it up to 95-96 when he needs it. Too bad Sal Romano never figured that out. Red's need Wood to come back and one other pitcher. RE: Wood has setback - Circleville Guy - 04-28-2019 This back injury stuff was going on last year. I’m guessing that his starter days are either over or at least numbered. I would baby him now and set a time line for after the AllStar break. I also wouldn’t try to extend him with any kind of starter money, that gamble is too risky for a small market team. Votto’s future production to money ratio will be bad enough. |
