Mike Person - mallorian69 - 03-19-2020 Mike Person RG was just released by the 49ers. Started 14 regular season games and all 3 playoff games for them. What do you think about the Bengals making him an offer? Only had 2 penalties and allowed 1 sack in 2019. https://profootballtalk-nbcsports-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/03/19/49ers-inform-mike-person-of-his-release/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From %251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fprofootballtalk.nbcsports.com%2F2020%2F03%2F19%2F49ers-inform-mike-person-of-his-release%2F RE: Mike Person - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 03-19-2020 (03-19-2020, 10:40 PM)mallorian69 Wrote: Mike Person RG was just released by the 49ers. Sounds like a good Person to grab up for us to replace Miller. Su'a-Filo has played mostly as a LG seems about perfect. RE: Mike Person - ochocincos - 03-20-2020 He'd be ok to add. He'd make more sense at RG and then have XSF play LG. That also would allow Jordan to compete with XSF and then Price/Redmond (or draft pick) compete with Person. If one of the pups develop and Person starts, is having XSF on the bench with a 3+M such a bad thing? Person has tackle experience as well if Hart takes a step back or Williams is hurt. RE: Mike Person - SunsetBengal - 03-20-2020 He would be a perfect add for the Bengals. A slight upgrade in talent, 61.8 PFF grade in 937 snaps played, only surrendered two penalties and one sack. Plus he had 3 starts in the playoffs, on a great OL. Low cost, as he had just signed a 3 yr/$9M deal in 2019. 49ers must really be up against the wall on cap, if they're cutting a solid depth guy like Person. That's perfect backup money. RE: Mike Person - Synric - 03-20-2020 Mike Person also ran a similar outside zone scheme for the Niners that they want to in Cincy so it is a fit. Niners running game was brutally efficient. RE: Mike Person - phil413 - 03-20-2020 (03-20-2020, 01:59 PM)fredtoast Wrote: Niners running game was brutally efficient. I know there needs to be balance in the force, but having a LG that can pass block, a RG that can run block and neither ger lost in the other and I'm happy. RE: Mike Person - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 03-20-2020 Yeah, I like this Person more and more. Bring him in. RE: Mike Person - Whodey614 - 03-20-2020 It seems pretty weird that a team coming off a SB appearance would drop their starting RG. I don't know their cap situation or if they have a young talent ready to take the reigns but I'd have to think that's a sign that maybe they've got all they can get out of him. We need all the depth we can get so I wouldn't mind bringing him in but just like Su'a-Filo, we can't expect this guy to be a fix. I believe he was replacing the regular starter who got hurt. RE: Mike Person - Luvnit2 - 03-20-2020 (03-19-2020, 10:40 PM)mallorian69 Wrote: Mike Person RG was just released by the 49ers. He sounds like a guard the FO should be looking at so hope they do. |
