I finally left Cincinnati. - BengalB - 10-05-2015

For the first time ever, I moved away from Cincy. Like 1,200 miles away moved, lol!

We needed a change of scenery and new adventures. The crime, the heroin, the BS...it just was depressing.

So, we left. Moved to the best state ever! The Centennial State, Colorado.

And? I LOVE it.   Big Grin

I do miss me some Skyline though. What I wouldn't give for a couple of cheese coneys and half order of garlic bread...Nom.

Just thought I'd share.

Oh, and the Bronco Love is real out here. Playing the game over the intercom at gas stations real... Ninja

I briefly lived in Breckenridge, CO some years back.  They love their Avalanche and Broncos.  Real chill people and beautiful country.

Yeah, the quality of heroin in Cincinnati is for shit.  you'll get much better stuff in Colorado.

So where did you move to?  I live in Colorado for a few years back in the early 90's.  Two years in Boulder and another year in Denver.

No fear, out there they have real chili. Meat, beans, tomato, spices. That's it. No noodles or whatever, just man's chili.

North of the Springs....Near Monument.

The people here are SO nice, it's unnerving, lol. The views never get old. Looking at Pikes Peak as we speak!

We are hopefully going out towards Breck this week to see the Aspen groves/fall foliage and to just do a little sightseeing before reality, and work, creeps back into our lives.

I really could be on a perma vacay out here....

It's unfortunate that you moved from the greatest city on the ***** planet. Not everyone can be one of the chosen ones, I guess.

Colorado is definitely a cool place though. I would never get tired of the views there....unless you're in the eastern part of the state. Those views are super-forgettable.

Wait.

Wouldn't it be the same views? Just, ya know, turn around?

Mellow

Take the trip to Canyon City if you want to see some beautiful foliage, plus the town is very cool (small stakes Casinos and historic).

If I wasn't a KY native, I would have retired there.

Yeah.  I don't think I ever took the scenery for granted.  That, the sunshine, and the good herbs is probably why everyone is so chill.

RE: I finally left Cincinnati. - WhoDeyWho - 10-05-2015

Hell I even use to hitchhike from my house in the mountains to Main street in Breck to go to work. Once I even got picked up by the guy clearing the sidewalks in one of those construction-looking vehicles. Got to love CO.

I love a lot of things about Cincinnati. But what you people do to chili is an abomination.

meat. Beans. Spices. Tomatoes. Keep the cheese and noodles in the Alfredo.

Its chili only by name regionally.  A sauce really.  Still one of the greatest things on planet ***** earth.  But yes, you are right, in comparison to what would generally be called chili, not even close.

Not the first, nor the last time I anticipate, you and I have had this disco.  Probably about time for a classic Benton chili recipe thread on these boards.  Leaves are a turnin.

Cincinnati chili is far better than any real deal chili that I've ever had.

Anyone that says they don't like it has bad taste in flavor.  Fact.

This is the kind of chili I was raised on, and still make it myself. And I still like Skyline as much as ever. For me, it doesn't have to be one over the other since they differ so much. Definitely room for both on my household menu.
