DH in National league. - fredtoast - 07-25-2020 I think it will be here to stay. Once fans get used to it they will like it better than watching pitchers trying to hit. "Strategy" is not a lot of fun when it diminishes the quality of players performing. There would be a lot more "strategy" involved in football if every offensive player had to take a turn playing QB, but the game would suck. Most pitchers don't want to hit, and starters will get more chances to stay in the game instead of getting pulled for a pinch hitter. Position players get a chance to extend their career if they can still hit but don't have the speed or agility to play defense. And the way MLB has juiced the ball it is clear the owners have decided that more runs are what the fans want. So basically EVERYONE wants it. RE: DH in National league. - fredtoast - 07-25-2020 College baseball uses the DH. Other than the National League every other international baseball league, except one in Japan, uses the DH. Every minor league below AA uses the DH. In AA and AAA games if either team is an American League affiliate they use the DH. |
