You really are missing out. It's one of the rare cartoon shows that both adults and kids can watch and laugh.
You may want to filter out some episodes from your kids, though. The "panty raid" episode is pretty risque.

It came out when I was a kid and the first few seasons are really good. Like most shows the latest stuff isn’t that great from what I’ve seen.

When my kids were younger, I had the theme song down. Doesn't matter when or where I was with them, I would bellow out, "Oooooooooooohhhhhhh. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" They would yell in unison, "SpongBob SquarePants."
Damn, I really miss that.

Damn...at its peak (seasons 3-8) The Simpsons was as good as any show ever. Haven’t watched it years, but it will always a favorite of mine because of those early years.
As far as Spongebob I’ve never seen a single second of it. Which is fine with me. But you do you, Joe.
