RE: Joe Morgan dies - Nicomo Cosca - 10-12-2020 Every time you think this year can’t get any worse... RE: Joe Morgan dies - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 10-12-2020 Lame. One of my favorite players to watch and one of my favorite announcers to listen to. Rest In Peace, kind sir. RE: Joe Morgan dies - Goalpost - 10-12-2020 Tough one. Grew up watching Little Joe put up big stats. Back to back MVP. Has to be the best trade the Reds ever made. Joe had that signature flap with his elbow when batting Joe would get huge leads..might have been the best ever reading pitchers moves. While he was fast, he wasn't the fastest...Griffey was....but Joe just had superb acceleration. A great fielder as well. Him and Davey along with Bench and Geronimo made the Reds complete up the middle. Joe was such a leader who understood the game. What a team that was. Joe was a great one. RE: Joe Morgan dies - bengalfan74 - 10-12-2020 Like others said one of the all time best. Rest easy Joe RE: Joe Morgan dies - jason - 10-12-2020 This sucks... RE: Joe Morgan dead - jfkbengals - 10-12-2020 I was sad to read that today... RIP RE: Joe Morgan dies - guyofthetiger - 10-12-2020 I really enjoyed watching Joe back in the 70's. He will be remembered for his on and off field successes. RIP RE: Joe Morgan dies - TecmoBengals - 10-13-2020 RIP, crazy to think about how a legend from the Big Red Machine is gone. RE: Joe Morgan dies - Passepartout - 10-15-2020 That was such a legacy the Big Red Machine. RIP Mr Morgan nothing but class! RE: Joe Morgan dies - masonbengals fan - 10-19-2020 Without a doubt my favorite player growing up. Everybody loved Pete & Johnny but Joe was the man. RE: Joe Morgan dies - psychdoctor - 10-23-2020 Sorry to be late to this thread. Morgan was a beast and my 3rd favorite Red behind Rose and Bench. Special player and even better person. RE: Joe Morgan dies - fredtoast - 10-29-2020 I think Joe was si popular with many fans because he was so small. The Big Red Machine was loaded with superstars, but Joe was always kind of an "underdog" because he was only 5-7, 160. there have been a lot of small guys who were fan favorites, but Joe was actually a slugger instead of just a slap hitter like most small guys. RE: Joe Morgan dies - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 12-26-2020 Currently showing Tom Seaver's 300th win in a White Sox @ Yankees game on MLB Network Then they show Tom Seaver's No-Hitter with the Reds after that. A look back at the MLB stars we lost this year, Gibson, Seaver, Brock and Joe Morgan follows Seaver's No-Hitter. THEN, they show game 3 and after that game 7 of the 1976 World Series and Morgan's "Blooper that won it". Edited to add: They show the No-Hitter again and then have a Bob Costas interview with Seaver Tomorrow, lots of Cardinals, but today, the Reds get a run of classic games. RE: Joe Morgan dies - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 02-12-2021 Just posted on MLB.com. Amazing. |
