So does ZT have to scrap the playbook now? - impactplaya - 11-24-2020 So admist the whirlwind of news in the last 48 hrs there is still 6 games to be played. And there is Ryan Finely stepping into a familiar theme Under Zac Taylor. As in Zac cant retain the same QB from week 1 to 16. Heres the thing..Ryan Finely cant make 1/8 of the throws Burrow Can make. Ryan Finely cant process reads and check downs as Fast as JB can. Ryan Finely cant manipulate secondaries With his eyes like JB could. In short order Finely is going to expose ZTs lack of offensive Smarts. ZT had the benefit of a QB that actually made ZTs job easy at times. JB is so smart and instinctive, ZT Really did very little to acclamate him to the NFL. So back to Finely...since he cant hit 15 to 20 yd deep outs in those tight windows, now what....heck he cant even complete a throw on a hole route. Finely has the slowest release Ive ever seen in a QB. Defenses are going to have a easy day scheming vs Finely Name the coverage Finely cant beat it. All he has is decent wheels. Thats it. CBs are going to be able play oft coverage and sit on the route. Read his eyes and break the pass up or take it for 6. His arm has no.juice to it. Oh yeah ZT you can forget about a power running game. You need a FB for that.and you need a 2nd TE that can blow DEs Or OLBs backwards. So ZT your this genius at offensive football. Whats the playbook gonna look like....How are you going to.adjust to life minus Your savior Joe Burrow? I rather see EB from Green Acres coaching this team. RE: So does ZT have to scrap the playbook now? - RunKijanaRun - 11-24-2020 I think he Probably shouldn't do too much That takes effort. I can't imagine he'll Have time to put in a new system Because it's too late for 2020 and there is no reason he should be optimistic about his chances to be here in 2021. RE: So does ZT have to scrap the playbook now? - GreenCornBengal - 11-24-2020 I foresee ineffective screens, bad reverses with Erickson/Boyd, and poorly designed rollouts. I am curious to see if Higgins disappears without Burroe at the helm. RE: So does ZT have to scrap the playbook now? - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 11-25-2020 1st possession - tell Boyd and Sample to kind of half ass their routes, save their strength and study how they are being defended and save it for the sidelines between series . . . Finely has enough on his plate right now 1st play . . . Throw it as deep as you can sending Green and Higgins deep on each side. With Finely's weak arm, he doesn't need much time. 2nd play . . . Draw play to Gio 3rd play . . . Throw it as deep as you can sending Green and Higgins deep on each side. 4th play . . . Most likely a punt 2nd possession 1st play . . . Throw it as deep as you can sending Green and Higgins deep on each side . . . unless the first series pushed the safeties back a bit, then look for Boyd, Sample or Gio underneath who are now all instructed to go full. Try to throw a deep pass every other series and the playbook should be more open. If they come out and are obviously trying to establish the running game, with Finely's limitations, it will be 10 to 11 in the box on every play and Gio isn't built for that. That's the only way I can see them opening up the field with this offense right now. Even if they do a bunch of reverses, they're still going to be scrapping for every yard. I honestly think the Giants will be more prepared for reverses than deep passes this weak . . . erm . . . week. RE: So does ZT have to scrap the playbook now? - jason - 11-25-2020 I'd be rolling with a lot of wildcat and direct snaps to Gio. Punting on 1st down, and hoping for pick 6s and safetys might not be a bad idea either. |
