Bengals Are Favored By 1.5 - BFritz21 - 10-28-2015 SportsBook has the Bengals favored by 1.5, and, while that's not the end-all be-all, it is encouraging when you consider that sportsbooks are usually pretty accurate with their predictions, which is why they don't lose money. Throw in that the Steelers automatically get 3 points in the spread for being the home team and you have to be liking our odds. RE: Bengals Are Favored By 1.5 - Adamantium - 10-28-2015 This is certainly nice to hear. Man, if we go 7-0, I'm going to have to figure out a way to celebrate. Maybe I'll splurge and buy a new Bengals sweatshirt or something. RE: Bengals Are Favored By 1.5 - Whacked - 10-28-2015 Not surprised at all given the fact that they are 4-3 and we are 6-0 Not sure how it would be any different. They were 7 point favorites over the Panthers. And lost. RE: Bengals Are Favored By 1.5 - thegimp - 10-28-2015 You can't look at betting lines as a prediction of the outcome of a game. The three point rule is an old wives tale that started with USA Today making their own spreads. The bookies are trying to keep the money as even as possible between both teams. What this does say by opening up with the Bengals as favorites is that Sportsbook believes more money would be placed on the Bengals, straight up. People always say that and I agree that spreads are made to get equal betting on both sides, but how many times have you watched a game and predicted a blowout or one team to win by two or more touchdowns and then the game ends up in 1 point of the spread? It's just a good feeling leading up to it. RE: Bengals Are Favored By 1.5 - bengalguy71 - 10-28-2015 IGNORE THE NOISE! |
