Vonn Bell's overlooked pass defensed in the 2nd Q - impactplaya - 01-03-2022
I know the Bengals defense made some nice
Adjustments in the 2nd half holding the Chiefs to 3
But with 18 seconds left in the 1st half, I think Vonn Bell
Makes a play that keeps the game within reach
Mahomes rolls right and launches a arcing pass
To Tyrek Hill. Hill goes up and has a sure catch inside
The 20.but Vonn Bell at the last second gets his hand
In.their and the ball falls to the ground.
The Chiefs run the ball and finish the half. Up by 11
If Bell.doesnt deflect that , its a catch by Hill and I think the Chiefs had a TO to burn.
Go back to week 1 vs the Browns, the scored on the same
The same play to Hill.
If the Chiefs score a TD on.the next play, its a 35 17 going
Into.halftime. Even a FG makes it a 2 TD lead.
I think its a big play.that gets lost among the offensive
Performances and Lous zero blitz call on 3rd and 5

Agree it was a big play. The Chiefs get points there without it (7 or 3).
It did not help that RomoDope called it a drop on the telecast.

I'm glad he's here because it allowed them to get Shawn Williams off of the field. Williams was a major drop off from Reggie Nelson and killed the defense with so many late reactions.
BUT
With NFL Game Pass, I get to watch many other games*. I would easily put Vonn Bell in the lower half of the leagues safeties. Go watch some of the other games and you'll see why he was available. I'd obviously like to see O-line addressed early in this coming draft but I wouldn't be too upset with an early safety taken also.
*I block the ticker score line thingy with a piece of card board. It makes watching the other games later much more enjoyable. Jim Nance is a douche in this regard because he announces the scores of the other games at the end of games as if there isn't a ticker there the entire ***** game but I'd advise the "ticker blocker" for anybody that wants to enjoy a neutral game in it's entirety or through the condensed version available.
