There are no shortage of LA Rams boards though, so there will be plenty of fan chatter to chew on over the next two weeks. The early read is one that should be familiar to us. The Bengals don't scare me at all. They have some good receivers. Burrow can't do anything from his back. The Cincinnati defense is ordinary. They never learn, my friends. So, one more time, we must teach them what they do not know. RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Interceptor - 01-31-2022 Which is the main forum? RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Shake n Blake - 01-31-2022 Chiefs are a better team than the Rams, they do realize that, right? I guess expecting Californians to respect anyone outside ot their tiny bubble is expecting a bit much. My California cousin was once surprised I had a Wal-Mart. He thought Kentucky was all farms and horses. Anything they know comes from what they've heard. But a defense that shut down Mahomes for the whole second half would scare me a little. RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - JaggedJimmyJay - 01-31-2022 I don’t blame them for being confident. The Rams are great and they’re in the Super Bowl. But yes, opposing fans don’t tend to have a clue about the Bengals. On some vague level that might even extend to the players sometimes and serve as a small psychological advantage (I recognize this is a reach). RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - wcu - 01-31-2022 I read most of their Bengals threads across all of those forums. There are actually quite a few of them saying "Burrow is the real deal" or "Don't count them out, they're a scrappy team", "I actually like the Bengals and would be pulling for them otherwise" etc. Of course there are just as many that have just a cursory knowledge of the Bengals and think we don't deserve to be on the same field as them. RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - JaggedJimmyJay - 01-31-2022 There are a ton of statistical and qualitative parallels between these two teams that I hope to speak about later. RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Goalpost - 01-31-2022 Don't have to worry much about Stafford running the ball. 32 rushes, 43 yards. On the other hand, stopping Cooper Krupp won't be easy. Yeah, me neither.... RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Johnny Cupcakes - 01-31-2022 We just beat a team who is better than them (for the second time this year), who themselves, beat a team last week, that is also better than them. The Rams are good, otherwise they wouldn't be in the Super Bowl. They are very far from unbeatable though... RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Whatever - 01-31-2022 The Rams fans seem a lot less toxic than KC fans, at least. Most of their takes are fairly realistic. After the Titans game, it's easy to see them being confident in their DL. RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - pally - 01-31-2022 They are generally polite though. I don't want to see a repeat of the Titans game where Burrow is sacked 9 times and taking QB hits. I disagree, I think the Rams are a better team than the chiefs. Much better defense, and a real good offense RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Rubekahn29 - 01-31-2022 (01-31-2022, 01:54 PM)Frank Booth Wrote: I disagree, I think the Rams are a better team than the chiefs. Their defense is definitely better. Stafford is usually good for some questionable calls and the way our defense has been a turnover machine, that gives me a lot of hope . RE: Threads from the Enemy, SUPER BOWL LVI: Rams - Bengalfan4life27c - 01-31-2022 Chiefs fans are so toxic I never want to read their boards again at least there is rational football discussion on the Rams board. Rams were probably 3rd behind Chiefs and Packers. Maybe behind the Bucs as well. Great team, but I don't think many people were saying they were better than the Chiefs. The Rams moved back to LA the year I left SoCal and moved to Denver. Their fans were so excited about the return. Many of them still had old gear from the team, and it was really cool to see the team returning. In general, SoCal sports fans don't care spectacularly about their teams because there's so much to do there year-round people get distracted and sports are just a "thing to do to mix it up" rather than the obsession we see in other parts of the country. But there are certainly still die-hards. In general, I liked Rams fans (and Bolts fans, Angel fans, Ducks fans, etc). Laker fans are annoying and there are some Dodger fans that are as well, but I didn't feel that way about the Rams. In fact, I was ready/open to adopting the Rams as a my second team before I moved because I liked the nostalgia aspect. I would definitely expect that the casual Rams fan has no clue about the Bengals. Different conference, across the country, not a team name thrown around constantly on most mass media. If you're a casual fan in SoCal, it just doesn't matter to look that deeply at other teams. In most sports there, I don't see fans caring about much outside their division. |
