Above is a link to a Charles Davis article for 13 prospects he would “pound the table for”. I’m sure we all have guys we really like at different positions and different rounds. I always try to find my guys when doing draft simulators/etc so my mocks have a lot of similarities every time I do them.

List 5-10 or 13 of “your” guys, I’ll start:

Davis had 3 of my guys right in a row with Strong, Bell and Kolar.

Strong RB
Bell WR
Kolar TE
Deese TE late round
Domann LB coverage LB
Muma LB
Bonitto DE pass rusher
Wyatt DT only DT I’d take in the first two days
Gordon CB
Taylor-Britt CB
Cook S Cincy

Daxton Hill, DB Michigan
Zion Johnson, OL Boston College
Tyler Linderbaum, C Iowa (only for wide zone scheme though)
Trevor Penning, OT Northern Iowa
Jake Ferguson, TE Wisconsin (Rd 4 or later)
Cam Jurgens, C Nebraska (Rd 4 or later)
Some return specialists - Romeo Doubs or Velus Jones (Rd 4 or later)

I honestly don't know if I have more "pound the table" guys.

RE: Guys you would pound the table for - CJD - 04-14-2022

I don't personally watch a ton of play by play tape of prospects in the draft (I just don't have that kind of time anymore), but I follow a few guys whose opinions I trust (Mike/Bengals_Sans, Joe Goodberry, Andrew Russell) and the players that they have been most impressed with at our positions of need have been:

CB: Kaiir Elam (Mike particularly), Kyler Gordon (Joe Goodberry)
C: Tyler Linderbaum (everybody loves this guy)
G: Kenyon Green, Zion Johnson (everybody)
TE: Greg Dulcich (Trey McBride too, but Dulcich is much closer to Trey than some people want to admit right now).
DT: Logan Hall, Travis Jones
DE: George Karlaftis, Arnold Ebeketie
S: Jaquan Brisker

A few day 2 and day 3 prospects they like:
CB: Cam Taylor-Britt (Joe Goodberry especially), Alontae Taylor
C: Cam Jurgens
G: Cole Strange
TE: Charlie Kolar, Cole Turner
DT: Matthew Butler, Ben Stille (Joe Goodberry called him a "Late Pick Steal Type" due to his 14.8% pass rush win rate)
DE: Josh Pascal, Kingsley Enagbare
P: Ryan Stonehouse (Mike and Andrew are Stonehouse Hive...I don't know if they're just being ironic or not), Matt Araiza

Pound the table? Are we really sure that we want to use that imagery? I mean, I seem to remember reading that Paul Alexander stood up and "Pounded the Table" over Cedric Ogbuehi..

And Russell Bodine.

Obviously he’s not someone you want to listen to when he goes to bat for a player lol

If you’re one to already call Carman a bust you can throw him in that group too. Pretty sure PA was all over the place talking him up as well last offseason….but I still hold out hope for Carman

I liked Wyatt, but he's dropping due to repeated domestic violence.

Now listen son, you've got to pound the table sometimes to get your point across, but always remember to gently tap the Heinz logo on the ketchup bottle to get it to pour properly..

RE: Guys you would pound the table for - J24 - 04-14-2022

Zach Tom C
Cam Taylor Britt CB
Alex Wright DE
Alec Pierce Wr
Thomas Booker 3T

RE: Guys you would pound the table for - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 04-14-2022

- Dax Hill S Michigan
- Jaquan Brisker S Penn State (watched this guy just makes plays all season last year, dude is everywhere)
- Andrew Booth CB Clemson (great cover guy and a damn good tackler, does it all, might be my favorite pick at 31)
- Devonte Wyatt DT Georgia (perfect 3-tech to replace Ogunjobi)
- David Bell WR Purdue (just a fine, big WR that plays the position well with great hands and smart crisp routes)
- Linderbaum (the only question is if the short arms hold him back like Price's obviously did in the pros)
- Zion
- Kyler Gordon CB
- David Ojabo DE Michigan (would be a steal at 31 with his talent, just won't play right away)
- Jamaree Salyer G Georgia
- Ryan G/T UCLA (in the 2nd, same reasons CD mentioned)
- Travis Jones DT UCONN (monster DT that CAN rush the passer, might fall to us in the 2nd)
- Tariq Woolen S UTSA
- Calvin Austin Returner/Slot WR (speed at WR and a dynamic returner, kills 2 birds with one stone)

Also really like Boye, Karlaftis or Bonitto if we add an End early. Mellow

RE: Guys you would pound the table for - Bengalpool - 04-14-2022

Andrew Booth Jr.
Tyler Linderbaum
JT Woods
Cam Taylor-Britt

Really like all these guys too, damn this draft is stacked with players I would love to have on this team.

Cannot believe I forgot about Winfrey lol

I like a lot of the TE's that I didn't mention, McBride, Kolar, Ferguson, Jelani Woods etc.

My list is pretty dang long with players I would be more than happy with. Mellow

Now I need to do my first Mock...

Hmmm, is table pounding applicable to 4th round+ picks?  Hilarious

What makes you interested in Ferguson over other TEs being talked about, value in round 4 with the idea the other guys are already gone?

What I mean is that I think these guys would be great value in Rd 4+ over their colleagues at their position.
For example, I think Jake Ferguson could be a Dalton Schultz type of TE. Good TE2 or even a solid TE1.
Good well-rounded TE who I think will produce even more as a pass catcher if he's in a more pass-heavy offense. Wisconsin is much more run-focused, so I feel his production was capped.
Getting a guy like that in Rd 4 would be great. And he's currently projected Rd 4-5.

I'm willing to even say Ferguson in Rd 4 could yield better than Ruckert or Otton in Rd 2.

I would have listed some CBs, but there are many that I like, and not one specific one I'm "pounding the table for."

Agree with you on Ferguson for sure Ocho.

Also think he would be a fine TE to learn behind Hurst for a year in case he leaves after having a big year like I expect.

I like Brisker too, almost added him to mine but was trying to minimize duplicate positions as much as possible. I actually really like 5-6 of the Safeties in this class. Love all the DE’s you mentioned as well. Nice to see someone else here is in on David Bell too! Thought I was the only one

Thanks for sharing! I had not heard that about him yet. Definitely throws a wrench in that dream. Oh well, I wasn’t expecting him to be there at 31. I had already started to accept the fact that we may not get a DT of immediate help this draft anyway
