Cheffers and the Chiefs - SunsetBengal - 12-08-2023 Interesting article on the bad blood history between NFL referee Carl Cheffers and the Kansas City Chiefs. TLDR? Kelce ran his mouth over a call that resulted in being the difference in a KC a playoff loss to Pitt in 2016. It's been a tough road for KC every time Cheffers has officiated a KC game since. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/chiefs-path-to-victory-on-sunday-just-got-more-complicated/ar-AA1l9Tcw?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=4cd5309964d6454bb065edc3f6341ccd&ei=38 Quote:16-year NFL referee Carl Cheffers and his crew are prepared to officiate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 14 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 12-08-2023 Pretty wild, kind of like that Cheffers is refereeing this game against the Bills though. Hoping the Bills beat those sacks. I just don't like the Chiefs at all anymore. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - NotBigzo - 12-08-2023 Cheifs aren't dropping 3 of their next 5 to lose the AFC West to Denver. Our playoff odds have little to do with KC's success. Root for them to beat Buffalo. I even used to like Kelce because he was a Bearcat and he didn't seem like such a doosh before the last couple of years. Success has went to his head clearly and he just comes off as an asshole now. A lot of the Chiefs do, but Kelce is the worst. I actually like Jazz Bath State Farm a bit but his family is weird. Justin Reid is another doosh though. I like Clyde, Burrow and Chase's teammate at LSU. But I just don't like the Chiefs. The Bills I like and I like Josh Allen, I like their fans and will root for them if we don't make the Playoffs and they do, just like I will root them on this week against the Chiefs. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - Sled21 - 12-10-2023 The Chiefs just aren't that good this year. Both of their tackles are sucking. They've already lost 4 games. Not the same old Chiefs. The Super Bowl will not go through KC this year. Cheffers and the Chiefs - The D.O.Z. - 12-10-2023 Watching Mahomes throw a temper tantrum on the sidelines to end that game was pretty entertaining. Hearing a whole stadium chant "refs you suck" on a call where Toney was clearly lined up in the NZ was equally entertaining. That sucked the air right outta Arrowhead. While I agree with those statements, it is also interesting about the relationship between Cheffers and the Chiefs having ill feelings towards him. Now instead of Kelce flapping his jaws about the officiating, it's now Pat Mahommes. It's one thing when an emerging player like Kelce, as he was at that time goes off on the officiating compared to now when the supposed steeled leader of a multi-championship winning franchise makes a big statement about officiating. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - basballguy - 12-11-2023 Ignore the fact that it was a blatant offsides or neutral zone infraction or whatever. It’s interesting seeing the Chiefs complain as if they haven’t been the benefactor of late game calls at least a dozen times over the last few years. I didn’t even know this history existed until I saw this thread. I can totally buy into there being bias too especially after seeing Scott Foster ride Chris Paul the last decade RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - Sled21 - 12-11-2023 (12-11-2023, 08:56 AM)SunsetBengal Wrote: While I agree with those statements, it is also interesting about the relationship between Cheffers and the Chiefs having ill feelings towards him. Roger will probably cave and Cheffers will never ref another Chefs game RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - SunsetBengal - 12-11-2023 (12-11-2023, 12:34 PM)Sled21 Wrote: Roger will probably cave and Cheffers will never ref another Chefs game Can't have the State Farm duo looking bad on National TV on a regular basis.. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 12-14-2023 It was the right call and still the Chiefs complained and more than that, cried like whiny bitches. No wonder I cannot stand that team, this last game showed why and I was glad the Bills won even if it makes our road tougher. I hope somehow both us and the Bills are able to squeak into the Playoffs and the Chiefs have to play on the road for once. They have been so spoiled, like Basballguy said, they have benefited from bad calls a ton over the last few years in the biggest of games. The Chiefs cannot handle things going bad at all. Hope they face plant the rest of the season. RE: Cheffers and the Chiefs - bengalfan74 - 12-14-2023 (12-10-2023, 09:52 PM)The D.O.Z. I could see the Chiefs being upset if like the guys tip of his shoe was on the line. But like most of his shoe was over the line, not just close. And I think Pat's hissy fit was about more than just the offsides call.
