success leads to higher prices

RE: Bengals among the most expensive game tickets - TheLeonardLeap - 08-28-2024

50% more than the Chiefs

Just too expensive to go to games anymore. Cheapest tickets available on Ticketmaster for Bengals Week 1 right now are $165 and that's all in the top 4 rows of the stadium.

Too bad you gotta be upper middle class or white collar to go to a NFL, MLB, NBA game, unless you make a vacation out of it. I remember $12 blue seat tickets behind dugout at Riverfront. I was gonna go to Jacksonville last year because it was on my birthday, then I checked ticket prices & on principle alone I did'nt go. Watching in 4k is better & cheaper. Last Bengals game I went to was at Riverfront against the Bears and it had -20 windchill. Did'nt have feeling in my hands until I was close to Dayton.

I assume this is "after-market" average?

RE: Bengals among the most expensive game tickets - HarleyDog - 08-28-2024

Holy Canoli. I mentioned in other threads I went last year and it was super expensive compared to what I spent when I was a season ticket holder. At least Jungle Jims Tailgate makes it more affordable for pregame fun. But Stewy is right. If we want big money players, we must have big money tickets.

I thought Detroit was a poor city until now. Damn, need to work for UAW.

Yes my favourite topic to moan about American sports prices

My account only goes back so far but in 2018 I paid 200 dollars for two tickets to see us play the Steelers, the stadium was half empty and the other half was full of those black and yellow cockends.

They weren’t the greatest seats but I was only 28 on the back of paying for a wedding.

In 2021 I think I paid around 320 dollars for the Browns game in the lower level but near the back, slightly higher but a division rival and we were playing brilliantly until the week before and ***** Mike White happened.

In 2022 in 106 for the Chiefs game I paid around 500 dollars expensive but the biggest regular season game in great seats understandable.

Last year was around the same for the colts and Vikings games I probably got stung with that as I bought them on release night and then Burrow went down that’s the risk you take.

This year for the Ravens game alone it has cost me NEARLY A ***** THOUSAND DOLLARS for two tickets in 106.

How do they get away with that? Over here that would be the cost of a season ticket which is 23 games and I’d have a couple of 100 left over.

The prices since 2022 have nearly doubled, not to mention the amount they charge for beer and food.

Next year I’m going to Lambeau as it’s a bucket list stadium for me but the year after I’m taking a year off from travelling over which is such a shame as I love visiting but even with a decent job and knowing I’m in a very fortunate position it’s just becoming too expensive.

How are dads meant to bring their kids to a game and get em hooked? As far as I can tell there isn’t even a kids pricing structure over there which is a ***** disgrace.

RE: Bengals among the most expensive game tickets - NATI BENGALS - 08-28-2024

I got my email for season ticket holders to get first dibs at SB tix the other day. Two tickets to the Super Bowl nose bleed section on the 30 yard line costs $14,700…. No hotel no airfare. Just the “game day experience.”

Think I’ll pass.

Your wife must be getting more and more thrilled each year. LOL

Lions? I know they did well last year but damn.

RE: Bengals among the most expensive game tickets - PDub80 - 08-29-2024

"Win games" they said. "Make the stadium nicer" they said. Give us a ring of honor" they said. "Need better parking" they said.

"Why's it so expensive?" they said.

Looks like "they" didn't understand how all of that was going to happen: $$$

Conspiracy theory or conspiracy fact, you decide: ticket prices are so high to keep more people watching at home so the income the NFL gets from contracts with TV networks can keep increasing.

Looked at that way, YouTube's $400 Sunday ticket fee isn't that bad, even though it's super high for the average person. How is it only a few years ago it was $170 a year for Sunday ticket, Google killing us.

i don't think free market is conspiracy theory, I have and I know many others that have sold NFL tickets on these secondary market, the price is decided by the seller/us, and influenced by the demand of that game/team.. it is that simple. What i find more interesting is around 2015 NFL did away with blackout and people thought oh , attendance is going to drop badly, people are going to stay home and in the reality it has had a minor impact, on average less 2 to 3% drop since 2015.

RE: Bengals among the most expensive game tickets - Sled21 - 08-30-2024

All I know is a couple of year ago I was going to 1 pre-season game a year for around 12 dollars a ticket. A buddy of mine at work who is from Florida looked online for tickets to the Bucs game, and all we could find were nosebleeds for 100+. For a freakin pre-season game.
