Jamarr Chase - Bengalfan4life27c - 10-07-2024

With the season being a lost season. I will use the rest of the season to marvel at the greatness of Chase through 4 seasons He has 2nd most receptions ever. He already has passed his LSU teammate in Receptions and Yards and needs 4td's before end of season to have all 3. Chase is putting himself in the conversation for GOAT WR when his career is over.

I am also enjoying watching Chase cook now that it seems like we're finally throwing deep to him a bit again... but you sure about that? I think you got Jefferson and Chase mixed up number-wise in your comparison because Chase is behind in yards and receptions and ahead in TDs.

Jefferson through 4 seasons: 5,899 yards
Chase so far through 3 seasons+5 games: 4,210
Chase needs 1,690 yards in the final 12 games (140.83/gm) to pass Jefferson.

Chase also needs 96 catches in the final 12 games to pass Jefferson in receptions.

Chase already surpassed Jefferson in TDs through 4 years, he has 34 with 12 games to go this year, and Jefferson had 30 in his first 4 years.

I included playoffs with mine JJ 5,946 YDS 399 REC 30 REC TD Chase 4,798 YDS 342 REC 37 TD. My first post was inaccurate because I was confusing Justin with his dad John who also has impressive stats through first 4 seasons.

Watching Ja’Marr Chase is unbelievable. He may be the most gifted athlete have ever seen.

We need to give credit where credit is due. Frank Pollack is doing good work with the offensive line and I think the scheme and the personnel finally match, especially in pass protection. For the first time since 2021, Joe Burrow has time to drop back and let deep patterns develop. Yesterday at the game, I paid special attention to the offensive line and I am absolutely in awe of Amarius Mims. He’s like a building on ballerina feet.

Too bad they’re still having problems run blocking. All in all it remains a one dimensional offense

I agree wholeheartedly, Frank, and one dimension is better than zero. I will say this: In the only game the Bengals won the amount of pass attempts and rushing attempts were the same. In the four losses, the Bengals thew way more than they ran.

But there’s a reason for that. The defense is getting killed, and the bengals have to score. And the run game just isn’t good. So you have to rely on Burrow and the weapons to keep you in ball games

RE: Jamarr Chase - jj22 - 10-07-2024

Chase is having a career year. Really everyone on offense is. Which is really why this has been such a painful season.

I think the run game is much improved over previous years. Gone are the run downs that look like they were just to "keep the defense honest" for a 1 yard gain...

They’re a below average run team. There’s plenty of data to back it up

Yep, but they were below bad last year, so below average is a step up.

RE: Jamarr Chase - jj22 - 10-07-2024

and they always will be being a pass happy attack.

compared to seasons past, I don't need to see data to see an improvement.

You don’t go by facts anyways. It’s all emotions with you

RE: Jamarr Chase - Mer - 10-07-2024

So I guess we can now say Chase has not peaked?

1. Season's not lost.
2. You don't include playoff numbers with regular season stats, NOBODY does.

the number of games we can lose and still have a chance is down to 3 for the rest of the season based on the first 5 games...

yeah its pretty much got a fork in it

RE: Jamarr Chase - Southpaw Frerotte - 10-07-2024

Predictably, Ja'Marr Chase is having a great year. And predictably, the Bengals FO will wait until the 25th hour in late August 2025 to resign him to a LTC since they were too inept to resign him last offseason when he would have cost less.

Last time I'm going to say it, because I've become a broken record, but no, the season is not done.

We're 2 games out of division with 12 games to go, not 4 with 6 to go.

There's a ton of season left.

I haven't been able to watch the game yet, but this sure makes me feel better after this hurtful loss. Ja'Marr's balance, strength, speed
and quicks are just unbelievable to watch. Amarius Mims is so talented as well and to see him doing this well already is mind boggling.

Saw that beautiful deep ball to Ja'Marr yesterday where Burrow was able to step into a beautiful pocket and throw effortlessly down the
field, haven't seen this often in Joe's career.

Expectations for this year were the Super Bowl.  Even if the Bengals sneak into the playoffs (which is a huge if given their current record), there is absolutely no way this trash defense will play well enough to advance.

True that Truck.

Completely agree obviously. To act like the season is done right now is just defeatist talk. This team will win a lot of games this season
once they put it all together, losing Dax Hill hurts maybe but I really like DJ Turner and CTB should get back to his good play soon. The
DL is looking much better now with Jenkins developing, BJ Hill, Murphy and Jackson able to play etc.

Also Jordan Battle getting some snaps makes me hopeful the Safeties will start playing better. Both Vonn and Geno Stone have been a
bit underwhelming so far this year. Battle has good instincts and is a good tackler and knows the game very well for such a young player.

The Offense is playing pretty fricking great right now scoring more and more points each week. We have a run game now as well.
