Trade Ideas - schroomytunes - 10-26-2024

Wonder if we could get Azeez Ojulari from the Giants for a late pick. He would give us another pass rusher and I would be willing to go as high as a 5th rounder for the guy thoughts?

RE: Trade Ideas - bfine32 - 10-26-2024

Tre'Davius White is great when healthy. but he hasn't played a lot lately. I pray to the CB Gods and see if they'll pay us back for Trae Waynes.

RE: Trade Ideas - J24 - 10-26-2024

If(huge IF IMO) the Bengals do a trade, I imagine it would be for a player they want to keep long-term. I would look at players in their 2nd and third year of thier rookie deals that are not getting playing time.

I doubt the Bengals would make a trade until right before the deadline, and that's only if they can get to 5-4 by then.
But another pass rusher or CB makes the most sense.
Maybe another WR to boost the offense, especially in case Higgins keeps having to miss games here and there.

If trying to think about what could benefit into next year, maybe trade for Jakobi Meyers from the Raiders?
He's always been a solid WR2 and would do better in CIN than LV.
Meyers also would still be a Bengal next year, bridging the gap for when Higgins departs.

Mike Brown when he reads fans hoping and predicting in-season trades....

John Metchie WR Texans also could be worth a look, maybe? Another interesting guy would be Alec Peirce?

Metchie I wouldn't bother with, as he's yet another dude who hasn't proven anything.

Pierce may be someone to go after.
They have a lot of mouths to feed in IND: Pittman (their incumbent WR1), Downs (who established himself as a solid WR2/3 last year), Pierce, and 2nd rounder AD Mitchell.
It's real hard to feed 4 WRs enough, especially with a QB as poor at throwing accurately as Richardson.

RE: Trade Ideas - casear2727 - 10-27-2024

After today's game we are more likely sellers than buyers.

I hope so but this incompetent FO won’t even know how to be sellers.
At this point they can trade anyone and I wouldn’t care. Burrow is being wasted and Chase would be a fool to re-sign with the Bengals. Everyone else is pretty much expendable except for maybe Mims on his rookie deal. Trey just got his lunch money taken from him by a scrub OT so if he wants a trade then grant his wish. This team is far from competing for a playoff spot much less the SB.

Somehow they need a total rebuild while having a franchise QB and a top 5 WR in their primes. Only MBs Bungles could pull that off…

RE: Trade Ideas - THE PISTONS - 10-27-2024

They likely value late picks too much to trade them.

RE: Trade Ideas - Fan_in_Kettering - 10-27-2024

We’re way too late. The Bengals are mediocre at drafting and the trade deadline is too late to fix any real problems. Where the Front Office whiffs is in free agency. Should we have gone after Derrick Henry? Probably. I remember about fifteen years ago passing on Nnamdi Asomugha when he led the league in interceptions.

Yep. They sign Nick Scott's and Geno Stones. And they overpay at that.

Man...our roster needs 6-7 starter upgrades.

Bengals haven't traded away anyone (of significance at least) since Dunlap, and only because he was a whiner for them.

Brown is not one who deliberately will throw in the towel for higher and more draft picks.

He'd have to get a king's ransom for Higgins, but with the other guys also supposedly available, why would someone pay the Bengals' asking price (likely a 1st or 2nd rounder) when there are plenty of other WRs likely available for (way cheaper)?

What I expect will happen:
- Higgins walks in FA, Bengals get back a 3rd round comp pick that they can use in 2026 (woohoo)
- Bengals will invest yet another 1st or 2nd rounder on a WR to try to replace Higgins
- Bengals will continue to roll with Stone at FS but put Battle at SS for 2025
- They'll get some (somewhat) bargain vet CB or draft yet another CB early to compete with Hill and Turner for starting CB. I'd lean toward bargain vet (Eli Apple type) because they already have 5 guys on rookie contracts who will likely still be on roster next year - CTB, Hill, Turner, Newton, Ivey
- One of the above will take over for Hilton when he leaves in FA next year.
- Bengals will draft a mid-round DT to replace Hill on the roster and expect (pray) that the new dude, Jenkins, and Jackson will help solidify the IDL with Rankins
- Bengals will draft another DE to groom behind Hendrickson and Hubbard who replace Ossai/Sample. That player will be drafted somewhere in the first 4 rounds.
- Bengals will go to the bargain FA bin again for TE to replace Gesicki while All continues to grow into eventual TE1.
- An IOL will be drafted between Rds 2-4 who will be groomed as heir to the IOL who are set to depart in FA over the next 1-2 years.
- Bengals will continue to peddle out Zack Moss and his paltry YPC because they want to justify signing him to replace Mixon. They'll look to replace Moss in the 2026 draft if Brown doesn't blossom more.
- Chase will get a 3 year, $100 mill contract this offseason and stay in CIN.

I think you really have to focus on the offense if you want to make an in-season move. The defense played ok, until a missed field goal and then a turnover on downs on back to back drives. If we had a reliable guy that can help move chains, especially when tee can’t play, then we potentially don’t settle for a 54 yard field goal and turn the ball over. Granted we lost by more than 10, it really changes the game flow. As we saw.

I still think Tyler Boyd could step in and make a difference. It won’t show up huge on the box score, but those 4/45 games, from the last few years, are missing big right now. I only continue to bring his name up as he knows the playbook. Anyone else doesn’t contribute for a few weeks and we need wins… yesterday.

If the Ravens had won then I'd agree. I also think we're 1 game out of the playoff picture trailing the Colts and Chargers.

I've mentioned TB before but I'd like to see Mike Williams

He doesn’t know the playbook. That would be my biggest concern here.
