Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays - Housh - 10-28-2024 It’s midseason dude ATP he has no work ethic at all or he’s got mental issues but we drafted got cause we needed you and you aren’t here for us when Tee is hurt We’re gonna look at these drafts in 10 years and wonder why we wasted Burrows prime RE: Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays - Goalpost - 10-28-2024 He has big play potential. This year, he has made 2 catches at 44 per. RE: Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays - Nicomo Cosca - 10-28-2024 (10-28-2024, 09:37 AM)Goalpost Wrote: He has big play potential. RE: Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays - BengalsLUFC - 10-28-2024 It’s ***** frustrating but at this point just have him run go routes. Hes either gonna make a couple of 40 yard catches per game or he’s gonna get doubled which will create space for Chase and Tee. I don’t think there’s been many snaps with all 3 of em on the field actually running routes, another Taylor **** up. Evaluation of Yoshi is over for me. He's not good enough to even hold a roster spot at this point and Charlie Jones needs more reps. And appears he can only play on the right side of the field and can only run one type of route. We knew he was raw coming out of college. He was thrust into a starting role because he either gave the coaches optimism he was ready off what they saw in offseason/TC workouts or he was just the best option they had. I do agree to give Charlie Jones a chance. Don't keep that guy on the bench on offense because you need him for friggin punt and kick returns. RE: Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays - Timanky12 - 10-28-2024 Why do we always draft the dumb receivers. Didn’t we draft Ross a couple years ago, who couldn’t get on the field, because he didn’t know the offense. He played on the left side in the pre-season. Burton probably has been mostly Chase's backup so only those routes/alignments. I doubt he has seen many slot reps because of Iosivas and Irwin. He has been Chase's backup for all that I can remember. When I noticed him in game, I saw him on the right side and Chase had moved. I didn't have a chance really to watch much preseason because it wasn't televised here except I think one game on NFL Network? Which is insane. Just let Burton run around back yard style until he's open at this point. It's still gonna be better than Yoshi/Irwin/Jones. What? 90% of his big plays in preseason were on the left side. His bomb vs the Chiefs was on the left side. I ask because the times I can remember Burton making a catch, he was catching from the right side of the field. Going back and looking at PFF snaps by detailed position for preseason, it was: 50% Left WR, 50% Right WR. It's apparently been close to 50% in regular season too. He's been targeted so little I guess that I just haven't noticed him on the left during games. We keep these awful back end scrubs because Brown is too cheap to invest in to depth. He buys depth pieces in FA and has them as our starters. Bell, Stone, Hill, borderline Rankins are all rotational pieces. Not starter level NFL players. He was on the left when he ran onto-and-off the field to make the refs delay the snap to give the defense time to substitute and sending Burrow into a hissy. He was also on the left when he looked like he ran the wrong route and was nowhere nearby as the ball almost got intercepted. Nothing positive on the left side this year as far as I know. Thanks for a good post Nicomo, made me feel better about you buddy. Burton's problems have always been mental. He beat Slay man, not easy. |
