I think the defensive assistant coaches are certainly on the hot seat.

RE: Coaching changes? - Destro - 01-05-2025

Who has the power to fire?

RE: Coaching changes? - WeezyBengal - 01-05-2025

Lou and Pollack should be shown the door.

Pollack can't develop or improve the OL in the five years he's been here.

Lou refused to play young drafted talent over his old shitty veterans. Once he was forced to play them the defense improved greatly. Also, it's a problem if your scheme is SOOO complicated that these players can't even understand it or execute it. See ya homie.

Don't totally disagree.  That said, does it matter who coaches the o-line if the organization continues to view OG and a jobber position?

The players aren't great. I get that. But there just needs to be a change. He's also the run game coordinator and the run game has been a disaster for years now.

Yep. I think Pollack has always been a bit of scapegoat for the real problem with this OL, which is the guy assembling it. It’s been an issue for almost a decade now.

Look at Bill Callahan’s line down in Tennessee. Even a great coach (which to be clear I don’t think Pollack is) can only do so much with what he’s given.

RE: Coaching changes? - EatonFan - 01-05-2025

Pollack really really needs to be gone. The OL has been a shambles for several years.

I’d argue Lou can only work with what he’s given. The front office gave him a couple fat, steaming turds, and expected him to make a sandwich with them. The biggest culprit in this season is the front office/GM. They’ve choked on consecutive drafts and free agency periods. McPherson turning into Fat Randy didn’t help either.

Yeah, since 2016. Anyway, I’m not advocating for keeping Pollack, but nothing is going to drastically change until Duke stops missing on draft picks, and assembling extremely unathletic OL’s. Mims was a good start in that regard.

I've liked Mims.  But he's the only one.  The others have drastically underperformed.

Orlando was having his best season before the injury. Karras has been good at least in pass protection. The problem is they had 2 of the worst guards in the entire league.

Rapien does have some connections inside the organization, so I believe it's at least being talked about.

The top 3 that need to be looked at are:
- Marion Hobby (poor DL performance as a whole aside from Hendrickson)
- Lou Anarumo (he used to be good with DBs at least, now that seems shaky)
- Frank Pollack (Burrow sacked 48 times - tied 10th most in league)

Pollack may have saved himself with two things - Chase Brown emerging and so many injuries on the OL to excuse the sacks/pressures.

Hobby has to be the first to go, IMO.
You can't blame the lack of pass rush on missing Rankins, Cam Sample, and a hobbled Hubbard.
Your 1st round draft pick in his 2nd year with the team ended with 0.0 sacks in 13 games played this season.

Under Pollack last four seasons we have average 49 sacks a year, time to move on from him

I think Jim Turner is available. Ninja

I'd suggest that Tobin should be fired for accountability.  Their drafting and free agency since building the AFCC team has been poor/below average overall.  We have the most bizarre FO so who knows what Tobin actually has his hand in but something needs done if nothing else to boost morale and maybe give some hope to malcontent stars and pending FA.
