RD1-Board Picks (2025) - bfine32 - 02-14-2025
Each year I do a thread where we as a Forum Mock the first round up to the Bengal's pick and this year is no exception.
How did we do last year:
The ones below in BOLD, we hit the nail on the head, those in Green got drafted before we picked, just not to the team we picked, those in black were available when we took Mims (Who was a front-runner for the Bengal's Pick before we ran out of time)

I feel like the Titans aren't in any delusion where they think they are just a QB away from competing, so I doubt they go get a FA QB.
In the event they do, I would say their pick will be Travis Hunter.
However, if they need a QB, I think Sanders is the pick.

I think Tennessee will trade down to get more picks, but no further than 3.
I think QB needy team like Giants who pick 3rd will trade up and get Cam Ward. So, I say Ward is #1 overall pick. I think Titans will be happy with Sanders, Carter or Hunter + a likely at least at extra 2nd round and extra 5th round pick. Titans have many holes, and I don't think they have all of their 2025 picks.

Agree with most, if the Titans stand pat, Shedeur Sanders goes #1, if they trade back it is most likely with the Giants who take Cam Ward
which I find the most likely as the Titans want more picks and Sanders may still be available at 3.

Next time you was to put the Bengal's FO on blast just realize they take a Cap Hit of $73 MIL for this year and next for a QB who has thrown 19 TDs, 11 INTS, 3365 Yards in the last 4 years combined with a passer rating right about 81. Plus they owe an additional $25 Mil 3 years from now in a voided year designed for "cap relief". They could rip off the band aid and cut him but the project cap for next year is around $265 Mil, they cut Watson and they eat $173 Mil in dead Cap.
If they are smart they trade Garrett to free up cap and rebuild via the draft, if they are dumb they spend #2 on Cam Ward. I think they finally do something smart so my pick:

This is one of those years where it's going to be very hard to predict. The Browns at #2 are key will they draft a QB?
I think the Browns should sell their pick to the Raiders. Raiders get pick #2 & Deshaun Watson (+half his salary), the Browns get pick #6.

Rules:
We can opine about possible trades but we will not draft assuming they will happen. If they do happen before the draft we'll go back and relook.
I leave each pick up at least 24 hours before taking a consensus and awarding the pick.
We can get closer to being done if whenever we post we give our pick.

Titans trade back, the top QBs do not fit this offense. Graham (next to Sweat and Simmons), Hunter (mostly CB but also some WR), and Abdul Carter as a 3-4 OLB would all make more sense. If no trade happens, I think new GM will buckle under pressure and take Shadeur Sanders. {Although if I were the Titans GM I would be lying early and often about any plans in the draft; IMO Titans would be better served picking Kurtis Roark or Will Howard as a developmental backup behind a journeyman FA with no reason not to pursue a better quick-read QB when one is available.}.
Browns won't trade Myles. And the stench surrounding this team will remain until Watson is gone. Browns had the worst QB performance of 2024 and no team needs a rookie QB contract on their books more than Cleveland. They may need to extend Watson just to get under the cap; he accounts for $73M in '25 & '26. After the Titan take Sanders, the Browns select Ward.
Both QBs should seriously consider sitting out the season and re-entering the draft.

Honestly the Titans could really use a corner or a wide receiver so that could realistically be the pick if they don’t like the top qbs.
A trade down is possible too.
I don’t know enough about these qbs to make a good prediction.
That said, the Titans could certainly use a legit qb and it would move the needle the most for them. If there’s someone they like he would be the pick I assume.
It’s probably safe to pencil in a qb here or a trade down.
But they could stay put and just take the best player in the draft.

I'll vote Abdul Carter for the Browns too and Cam Ward for the Giants. Daboll gets an athletic QB.

Mason Graham DT Michigan or DT Walter Nolan from Old Miss. The AFC is loaded with QBs and the easiest way to stop a QB is with interior pressure. Also, factoring in Baramore health concerns makes this a possibility.

Eh, the Pats WR's are complete trash and it's a poor WR draft. I think they take Warren. Gives Maye a solid target and helps their 2 headed monster at RB.

Will Campbell is the only OL I've seen consistently mocked in the top 10 so that makes a lot of sense. They need help everywhere. I could easily see BPA and Hunter. But you want to try to protect your young QB.
