Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - BFritz21 - 03-10-2025 A friend of mine that's from Chicago and lives there now (he was cousin's best friend when he died in the World Trade on 9/11) just mentioned that he's hearing rumblings up there that the Bears might be interested in Trey, so I decided to look it up. Sure enough, a few sites are listing it as a possibility: AthlonSports has us trading Hendrickson, our first round pick, and a fourth round pick to Chicago for their first (#10) and their third round pick. It feels like we'd be getting hosed in that scenario. BearsWire has us only getting a third round pick in the trade. It might be because it's late, but I'm having troubles seeing what SportingNeews is suggesting. I think they're saying Hendrickson for the #41 pick, but then down the page it says also maybe the #39 pick, and/or future picks, which that might not be bad and we could use those to trade for players or more picks. BearGoggles says just one of the second round picks. I might want another pick to sweeten the deal. There's a few more sites with suggestions, but what do you think about those? RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - sandwedge - 03-10-2025 Trade scenario 1 sucks RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - BFritz21 - 03-10-2025 (03-10-2025, 12:22 AM)sandwedge Wrote: Trade scenario 1 sucks Agreed. RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - Bengalstripes9 - 03-10-2025 I’d trade for the bears 1st straight up. He’s better than any player they get there. Maybe throw in a 4th with Trey or no deal and move on. This draft class is not that deep at OG i wouldn't wanna take 2 when we have other holes. but one at some point and a FA OG i'm good with. RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - schroomytunes - 03-10-2025 If I'm trading with the Bears, for me I'd want from them: Bears- #39 pick and swap 3rd rd picks ( 72 for 80) simple mock with trade. 1) Walter Nolan- DT (Ole Miss) 2) Tate Ratledge- G (Georgia) 2) Xavier Watts- S (ND) 3) Carson Schwesinger- LB (UCLA) RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - pulses - 03-10-2025 (03-10-2025, 01:49 AM)schroomytunes Wrote: If I'm trading with the Bears, for me I'd want from them: Uhh whwere is the pass rush???? ![]() RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - schroomytunes - 03-10-2025 (03-10-2025, 02:11 AM)pulses Wrote: Uhh whwere is the pass rush???? RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - BoomerFan - 03-10-2025 Just for some perspective I calculated values on these deals I used a draft value chart: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp There are other ways to calculate value and in the real world things don't work this way but I still think it is helpful to see the numbers. #1 17 Cin 1st = -950 118 Cin 4th = -58 10 Chi 1st = 1300 72 Chi 3rd = 230 Net points = 522 Of course if we think that there isn't much dropoff from pick 10 to pick 17, the points matter less. Or you'd need to find someone else to trade down with which is difficult and historically unlikely given it is the Bengals. #2 72 Chi 3rd = 230 Maybe there is a later conditional pick or player being offered as well here? If not and I were Cinci I would not take this deal straight up and hopefully they have set the expectation with Trey that they want at least a 2nd (above 450 points total value). #3 39 Chi 2nd = 510 or 41 Chi 2nd = 490 #4 194 Cin 6th = -13.8 (rounding to -14) 39 Chi 2nd = 510 41 Chi 2nd = 490 Net Points: 986 #5 80 Cin 3rd = -190 39 Chi 2nd = 510 72 Chi 3rd = 230 Net Points: 550 Edit: I assume a 2nd round pick would be where the Bengals' floor is at because the Bengals have at least a chance at getting a 3rd comp for Trey if he plays his final year with us and then leaves. Of course that pick would not come back right away (it would be received in 2027) and it could be impacted by a number of other factors including: Other FA signing and departures that year; If Trey starts with another team in 2026; And if the NFL tries to mess us over on what we are due again. Nolen can get a pass rush and help the ends get a pass rush by calling for double teams. He'd make our entire front 7 better in the pass rush department. I agree that we need to bring in a FA end or two and hope to land one in the draft. RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - TecmoBengals - 03-10-2025 I don't want to lose Trey, but if we must trade him then I hope we move up in round 1. Surely Duke has a better chance at drafting success in the top 10 than pick 17, right? RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - Luvnit2 - 03-10-2025 I will post it one more time. Bengals have all the cards, Trey and his agent have no cards. Trey is under contract for 2025 for a 16 million dollar base. Our FO would be idiots to begin any trade negotiation with only a second round pick or a swap of 1st round picks. Trey has 35 sacks the past 2 years, #1 in the NFL. Why would we settle for a mediocre trade when we can just keep the NFL sack leader on a team friendly deal in 2025 and then tag him in 2026? A team needs to offer the farm or Bengals should tell them to pound salt. Check out his sacks over the past 6 years. Myles Garrett is only player in NFL history to have 4 consecutive 14 sack seasons. Her is Trey 2020 - 13.5 2021 - 14 2022 - 8 (missed 2 games to injury) 2023 - 17.5 2024 - 17.5 Trey will demand a ton of compensation and for Bengals is a steal at only 16 million in 2025. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/3052743/trey-hendrickson RE: Bears Interested In Hendrickson?! - BengalFanInCanada - 03-10-2025 (03-10-2025, 10:26 AM)Luvnit2 Wrote: I will post it one more time. There is a hold-out for about half-the-season until he has to show up to earn credit for the season so he can turn free agent next year. Those uncertainties can be very harmful to the team planning for games. There also is the impact on the other players if they see Trey as being poorly treated because he could get a lot of money and guarantees from another team but the Bengals are hard-balling him. Other teams have renegotiated contracts and taken care of players who were outperforming their contracts. I don't see anyone offering a 1st for Trey, so make him play then tag next season. Sorry Trey, you could always pull a Palmer. I am still fully on team extend Hendrickson because he's our only really good player on defense... but personal feelings aside, just figured I would convert that for folks into roughly what the net of that trade would be: That trade according to the chart would be roughly equal to trading Hendrickson for the 38th overall pick. |
