Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - kevin - 03-23-2025 It s a needs area. Bengals D was awful, and we are losing Top D Linemen. So can any of you name D Lineman worth early picks or mid to late round picks. Scouts rank that George Defensive End pretty high, plus Georgia played the big guy inside and outside. But the ball is in your court. As Fans, You fix this Defense Not really interested in what other teams need. Stay on Bengals Draft. Who do you got to Draft on D Line, because the awful defense needs a rebuild. RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - SunsetBengal - 03-23-2025 Kevin, there are literally dozens of threads on here talking about draft picks. DL has been one of the most talked about positions this year, since it is a bumper crop year for defensive linemen (or so it would seem). Certainly you must have read something about this over the past few months?? RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - kevin - 03-24-2025 No I haven't. I have a life besides this Bengals Site. I don't live on here 365 days a year talking off season Bengals. A month from Draft, I posted a thread for others to comment on who they like in D Line out of college. There may also be others who have a life, and don't live on here 365 days a year talking Bengals. Getting closer to the draft, they might know some good college help for Bengals. Yes, this is Draft Central, and I'm sure people were on here talking the draft in October or even last summer. A month before the draft, who do people have now. It was meant with good intentions for any who wanted to mention some names. Of course there has to be the usual people who think they are big shots that their goal in life is to attack other peoples posts on here, and so you can feel proud in your mission accomplished. Now explain to be what you won ? You found harm in a post where there was no harm. You brought hate when there was no hate. What did you win ? This was intended as a harmless thread close to draft on who some on here might want as new Bengals, and that's all it was, no more, no less. That said, as always, GO BENGALS ![]() RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - Bengalstripes9 - 03-24-2025 Not a bad idea to have a thread dedicated to strictly Dline draft options, as opposed to rifling through 20 different threads. A lot of people like Kenneth Grant and Nolan in the first round at DT. There are a lot of options for edge rusher in the 1st as well. I think edge rusher is very likely, as is DT. Free Safety is another sleeper pick though. If they see someone in the 1st that can have a Bates-like impact, take over the positions, and really solidify the secondary that could certainly be the pick. In this scenario I'd be targeting Guard in round 2 and Dline in round 3. Bradyn Swinson comes to mind as an edge rusher out of LSU for the 3rd round. Edge rushers tend to go earlier though so this is probably a pipe dream. Just did a mock (simulation) right now: (1) S Emmanwori (2) G Ratledge (3) Edge Swinson (4) G Charles Grant (5) RB Etienne (6) I'm looking at another safety in Jaylen Reed, LB Jack Kiser, or a DT like Elijah Roberts or JJ Pegues RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - kevin - 03-24-2025 (03-24-2025, 08:25 PM)Bengalstripes9 Wrote: Not a bad idea to have a thread dedicated to strictly Dline draft options, as opposed to rifling through 20 different threads.Thank You for your input. You like Round 3 and a guy from LSU. Me, I like the guy from Georgia earlier. You could be right, the LSU guy could be just as good. Thanks for the input, I watch very little college ball, and pretty much only Bengals. The names you provided, I'll watch for in draft. A Safety in round one, I wasn't looking at that. It could help after losing Bates so early in his career. So you are saying D Line is loaded enough to go Safety early and D Line in 3. Bengals could use a Safety the size close to a linebacker if they are going to be in the Nickle and The Dime most of the game as Coach Taylor likes. A Safety that can also come up and run tackle like Bates would help. A David Fulcher type. I really don't think 2 LB's are enough in the AFC North, but if we had a 5th DB close to the size of a LB. I think that is what Bates added when team was winning. Taylor loves extra DB's most of game, but the AFC North has Henry, Chubb and running Qb's like Jackson. Once they get to into the secondary they have burned Bengals already. I like your idea of a good rookie Safety to finally fill the void left by Bates gone. A Safety that can come up and also be that 3rd LB on all these AFC North running plays. Thanks for the input. So you say go Safety early and there are top notch D Linemen deep into the draft, such as your guy from LSU. RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - BFritz21 - 03-24-2025 Walter Nolen- DT out of Ol' Miss! Can get a pass rush with moves or a bullrush and is solid against the run! He'd help out our entire defense! RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - Bengalstripes9 - 03-25-2025 (03-24-2025, 08:44 PM)kevin Wrote: Thank You for your input. I was just throwing the idea out there (of going safety in round 1) and it’s been floated by others too. Because dline is the strength of the draft it could make sense to wait until the mid rounds. But edge rusher is so valuable I would think that’s the first pick. We’ll see. RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - XenoMorph - 03-28-2025 This guy a run stopper? https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/464-pound-desmond-watson-could-be-largest-draft-pick-in-nfl-history if not a late round flyer and UDFA RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - J24 - 03-28-2025 Adin Huntington DT Tulane has a ras score(when you run his full numbers) very similar to what Arron Donald did in 2014. He also had 8 sacks, 16 TFLs, and 48 pressures in 2023. Kennard is a mid rounder for some reason, but he was impressive. Darius Alexander is a good run stopping DT to be had in the late 2nd to 3rd rounds. RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - Synric - 03-28-2025 LSU Edge Bradyn Swinson is one of my guys. He's a stand up only 34 outside linebacker and really raw as a run defender but one of the best pass rusher in this entire draft class. He is a natural with a complete toolbox of moves and counters. When he learns how to set guys up 4 or 5 plays ahead He's going to be a very dangerous DPR. Tennessee DT Omarr Norman-Lott is a good fit for the Bengals needs and could slide because he is only good at one thing rushing the passer. Oklahoma State LB Collin Oliver is a mid day 3 guy to keep and eye on. Oliver doesn't have the size or length to be an NFL edge defender and moved off the ball into a Zach Baun/Jamie Collins role in OK State's 335 defense. He struggled a little in 2023 in that role but was still the best pass rushing stack linebacker in FBS. Three guys that play 3 different positions that rush the passer. Bengals need guys like this to round out their front. RE: Name Some D Lineman Worth Bengals Drafting - FormerlyBengalRugby - 03-28-2025 (03-23-2025, 05:54 PM)kevin Wrote: It s a needs area. Went in a different direction, looking at day three options, as I think the Bengals need a rotational edge rusher to spell Trey, as it sounds like Golden may be happy to sit pat with Ossai opposite Trey this season. Plus there will likely be added pressure coming from the viper role, which I think will be selected in the first two days, but that is for another thread. Here is some cut and paste on the day three guys, [*]Gabe Jacas (Illinois)
[*]Bradyn Swinson (LSU)
[*]Ashton Gillotte (Louisville)
[*]Mike Green (Marshall)
[*]Tyler Baron (Miami)
[*]R.J. Oben (Notre Dame)

He is projected as a 1st round draft pick. Its not impossible he drops from the first round given the assault claims but no way does he fall to the 5th round. |
