They had some good hits (this is a mellow one) and Paul Rodgers is a solid vocalist. There is something to this. I look forward to the huge online flamewars pitting fans of Beethoven against Kendrick Lamar. ![]() RE: Seven acts inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 04-30-2025 (04-28-2025, 05:44 PM)Storer50 Wrote: I don't get the Outcast vote over the Crowes or Billy Idol. Or Cyndi Lauper, how can they even call it Rock 'n Roll HOF? Mariah Carey LMFAO!!! Terrible. Glad Soundgarden got in though, Ted Nugent should of been in forever ago. He doesn't even get nominated though because he loves guns. Oasis should of made it in over Lauper or Outcast as well and like you said the Black Crows or Billy. RE: Seven acts inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame - jason - 05-07-2025 OutKast are pioneers in the hip-hop subgenre of rock. They were innovative, and the first southern act to emerge and break through to the mainstream. You can't tell the story of hip-hop without them. Can the same thing be said for Billy Idol? Several acts did what he did before him (and most would agree much better than he did... And I don't hate him). The Black Crowes began as a Exile on Main Street derivative band, and morphed into a jam band. Their biggest hit was a cover song. Can you tell the story of southern rock, hippie music, or rock n roll without them? Yep... I like them well enough too. I think early Soundgarden is the shit... Black Sabbath meets psychedelic music... Not exactly groundbreaking though. It's ok to not like hip-hop, but OutKast's contribution to it is undeniable. Still Uncle Ted has been doing his thing a long damn time, guess I am biased for the guy. Liked Damn Yankees too and his other stuff. Iron Maiden should be in true. I went to Rock on the Range the year they were headlining but Chris Cornell died like a week before festival. It was a pretty amazing show (a vague memory this many years later)... Soundgarden, Faith No More, and Voivod. But yeah, when they were at their peak, they were something. I also really like Cornell's solo and Audioslave stuff. Amazing vocalist.
