All in? - kalibengal - 06-20-2025 Wondering what the buzz is on Erick All and his return? He showed alot of promise last yr before he blew out his knee again Without him, we really have one trick ponies at the TE position: Mike G is a large WR and Sample, well you know what he does..block RE: All in? - Luvnit2 - 06-20-2025 (Yesterday, 12:50 PM)kalibengal Wrote: Wondering what the buzz is on Erick All and his return? Maybe there is an update and maybe he can get back by our Super Bowl run. ![]() RE: All in? - Nicomo Cosca - 06-20-2025 (Yesterday, 12:50 PM)kalibengal Wrote: Wondering what the buzz is on Erick All and his return? He has a tough road ahead of him to come back from tearing the same ACL twice in as many years. RE: All in? - jj22 - 06-20-2025 He is out for 2025 (unfortunately). RE: All in? - Bengalitis - 06-20-2025 Is he the Eiffert 2.0 ??? I don't remember much of Erick All tbh. Did his stats back all this hoorah everyone is talking about? Mike Gesicki did the job when thrown at him. He stood out. Specially towards the end of the season when the offense got off the lazy bed.. I don't know much about other aspects of his game like blocking. I might be wrong but it seems like I remember others saying he was fairly good at it. I think mostly the hype is based on his perceived potential. RE: All in? - TecmoBengals - 06-20-2025 (Yesterday, 12:50 PM)kalibengal Wrote: Wondering what the buzz is on Erick All and his return? RE: All in? - Frank Booth - 06-20-2025 Front office is in with pocketing as much money as possible RE: All in? - Clark W Griswold - 06-20-2025 (Yesterday, 01:41 PM)George Cantstandya Wrote: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AllxEr00.htm I think he was supposed to be a very good TE who could block and catch. He was also hyped coming out of Iowa (Tight End U) but right now you can’t even compare him to Eifert. At least Eifert had a couple of non-injury seasons where he was very good. Unfortunately, All’s career has not even had a chance to get on track. Hope is able to come back and have a good career. Interesting that I just looked up Eifert and he’s only 35 years old. Seems like he played decades ago. Crazy to think that without all of the injuries he might still be in the league. Not as good a blocker as Sample, not the receiving threat of Gesicki, but not very far below either as well. Maybe we were all enamored with him because the TE position has been so weak for so long? Was personally a huge fan of trying to retain Hurst, but it was not to be... All was thee key cog in a lot of + bengals runs last year. Sample is good is passpro but he's not very good in run blocking. Same, I thought this thread was going to be about the FO myself lol It does suck for Erick All, he is a really good player when healthy, but having this injury twice to the same knee could seriously end his career. For sure, he was the best run/pass blocking rookie TE I have seen in stripes. He blocked Karlaftis of the Chiefs and owned him on one play. Usually Ends destroy every TE when they try and block them. This shows how good All was as a rookie until the injury and like you said was a very good run blocker as well. I think a lot of what Pitcher and Zac wanted to run went out the window when All went down. That is how good he was at his job. Sample is a good blocker, but not to All's level from what I saw. I wish I could remember what game that was. His biggest asset as a total package TE is he didn't give away the play. Him being in didn't dictate it was a pass play or a run play. They had flexibility when calling a play with him in. Our TE's now you kinda know what they are going to do. As I and other have noted, All was an asset due to not tipping the offense's hand. I actually like All in there with Sample, as it allows the O to run or pass. Similar to keeping All in there with Gesicki, allowing the O to audible to pass or run, pending what the D is showing. Despite tripping over his own feet immediately after toughing the ball, Sample is a great TE3. He catches a lot of crap because the Bengals pulled the trigger way early in drafting him. (Yesterday, 06:15 PM)FormerlyBengalRugby Wrote: Someone is feeling persnickety! All is the better blocker in space and moving (pulling), but Sample is much stronger, better anchor and can actually block DEs fairly consistently. All is the more complete player, as his route running is better, more athletic and can block well, but can't catch as well as Gesicki and can't block as well as Sample. It was the perfect, "one blocker, one pass catcher, one hybrid," that we had last year. But after the botched first surgery (because it shouldn't have torn again if done properly), this will indeed be tricky for him to come back. He seems to be a good guy and a super hard worker. Good asset to the team. |
