Thank you Mac - Speedy Thomas - 06-30-2025 Doubtful that players ever go on here, but my grandson attended Evan McPherson's one-day camp in Alabama and I'd like to publicly thank Mac for the personal attention he paid to him. My grandson is a soccer player who has never kicked a football in a game. Evan cleaned up his technique, provided pointers on kicking from the hash, and gave him plenty of encouragement. Mac shared that he too was a soccer player who didn't kick until his senior year. Maybe it's part of the job for players to be gracious to the public, but it doesn't always happen. It's good to know that guys we pull for as Bengals are nice humans. Rare when a player shows his best stuff as a rookie and then falls off. (Yesterday, 05:30 PM)jj22 Wrote: Didn't he have a sister on this board at one time? A cousin or someone? That was Shayne Graham's sister. Been a while. RE: Thank you Mac - jj22 - 06-30-2025 (Yesterday, 05:41 PM)Nate (formerly eliminate08) Wrote: Cool stuff Speedy. I have a grandson that is a sophmore in college and starting last summer, he was hired to go around the country and put on camps. He informed at the Chase camp, Chase was paid $200K for the camp (Iam sure Mac was paid a lot less) whixh I always they did it for the community and not for money. My issue though is not that he was paid, my issue is he did nothing to meet or thank any of the staff members, he did not show up daily and when he did it was for short periods of time. I love Chase the player, but very disappointing to me he treated those doing the work at his camp so rudely. So for Mac who likely made a lot less money, that is awesome he worked with your grandson and I would venture to guess Mac thanked his staff. On a side note, he said the company he works for turned down Josh Allen, he wanted $400K to show up for 3 hours of camp. Totally different experience for my grandson. Evan's camp was at his old high school in Alabama. Only about 50 campers, $49 for a full day including lunch, and they got all kinds of swag. I doubt Mac made very much and he was there all day. My grandson spent the morning as a counselor before getting instruction in the afternoon. At lunch he sat at a table with McPherson and his parents. I don’t think it’s a huge surprise that Chase is like that. But the unknown is what was expected of him and whether the promoters were the driving force behind the camp. I’d suspect Chase wasn’t doing this camp for anything but a quick dollar. And doubt the camp was his idea. Several unknowns here. I’m not sure this is completely on Chase. |
