I remember at one point we would have had a shot at a 56 yard field goal and decided to punt. No 56 yards isn't easy for any kicker but for them to doubt Mike Nugent enough to not try for a 56 yard FG then the message is clear. We need a new kicker.

Nuge did nothing today to hurt himself.
No problems with Nuge today.

The Bengals don't attempt 50+ with Nuge a lot of times, in the post season if forced I'm sure they would. Some years he had zero 50 yard+ attempts, so that should be telling.
I don't know how his stats rank with others but he's something like 11/25 from 50+ in his career. That's 44%, less often than not. You probably won't ask him to kick that unless absolutely needed.
Hill got the necessary yards, so that's a shame.
