RE: How long since a Bengals playoff win?

As long as Marv Lewis has been head coach. Whatever

GmDino your a very good representation of what the Steelers have become and how they are viewed by rest of the league.

Congratulations.

Rock On

All seriousness aside...when the Bengals took the lead last week I started to type up a congratulatory note to the board here and a tweet about the their first win in all these years.

Did anyone post anything about the win and then have to delete it?

I've been teaching high school for 5 years now. Not a single student of mine has been alive for a Bengals playoff win.

I also have coworkers who haven't seen a Bengals playoff win in their lifetime.

Yep, during the game day thread, but I didn't delete it. I got a little distracted.... Ninja

I was just going through the thread...from the time the Bengals took the lead until the FG.

Brutal.

That's what made this game so gut wrenching for me. Not because it was the steelers, but because the Bengals finally had it....and then gave it away. I would have felt just as upset had the game been against the broncos, the pats, the chiefs, etc. The monkey of both playoffs and prime time was finally off our backs....but no. If the Bengals were not going to win, it would have been easier if the steelers had just held onto their 15-0 lead and shut them out honestly.

Brutal is an excellent word to describe that sequence. Can't think of a better one, and I'm really not whining about any of it. Everyone has spent themselves trying to cope with one of the more bizarre endings of a game anyone has seen. I'm gonna go with remembering it as pure entertainment, and occasionally joke with my friends 'about that time we almost won a playoff game'......just for shits and grins.

And honestly, as I said before the game, had the Bengals won it would have been OK because I've grown to respect (some/most) of the fans in the Smack section here.  Even at the party we were at it was like "Well...ok" and no screaming or complaining.

Then then stuff at the end happened.

Amazing.

I was typing one up after the INT. I was using the touch screen and so it was taking a bit. Then the fumble happened.

Worse than that...

I've been a fan since '78 and i vividly remember that different feeling and excitement of playoff wins. I haven't felt that feeling for 25 years. Then the Burfict interception and that feeling came back.

For all of about 5 minutes. Mellow

Seriously, 25 years and it's right there before being pulled back.

Un be lievable.

My kids graduated almost 5 years ago. They were born 2 years after the last playoff win.

Was watching at a friends house. After the Burthdefect  INT I had no desire to continue watching. Grabbing my coat I left and accepted the fact the bengals finally did it. They're no more the cincinnati bungles.

But before I arrived home I got a text "WE WON"!!!

Thought she was ***** with me. Didn't believe it until I got home and turned on the computer.

Wow. I just kept repeating to myself..." They bungled it again. They actually went ahead and bungled it again."

Any Bengal fan who posted anything before 0:00 hasn't been a fan for very long.

Exactly. I honestly thought we'd done it when Burfict picked Jones off though.

But how sad is it to say that it took me all of 5 seconds after Green gave us the lead to think 'aw **** left these wankers too much time, last second FG incoming'

Just didn't think I'd be right in the way I would be  Sick

Yeah, with less that 2 minutes left I should have known your bungles would bungle it again.
