Feb Mock - ochocincos - 02-11-2016 FA: Morris Claiborne, CB DAL, 3 year, $8 million - A decent cover corner who many have labeled a bust to date due to his high draft pick. However, Mike Brown loves his former first-round draft pick reclamation projects and Claiborne wouldn't be expected to start. Solid FA acquisition that shouldn't cost a lot of money. Nate Washington, WR HOU, 2 year $2 million - If Marvin Jones leaves in FA, I think Washington could be a quality WR2. Washington would be a bargain vet who produces well given his age (33 to begin the season). This would give some insurance for a year or two until Boyd is ready to take over opposite AJ Green. Tyvon Branch, SS KC, 2 year $5 million - Branch would be good insurance at a good value to bolster our safety group if Nelson is not re-signed. Re-sign: George Iloka Adam Jones Mohamed Sanu Vincent Rey Draft 1) Kevin Dodd, DE Clemson - A 1st-rd DE while the Bengals have Dunlap and MJ under contract through 2018? Yes. With Gilberry leaving, there is room for a rookie who can contribute immediately and boost the pass rush. Dodd only had a chance to showcase his talent this past season, but he has great measurables, a ton of potential, and his 2015 tape showed a pass rusher with an array of moves to get in the backfield and make plays both against the run and pass. If Dunlap or MJ were to go down, Dodd has the skill set to fill in well. 2) Tyler Boyd, WR/RS Pittsburgh - Boyd was considered a first rounder toward the start of the 2015 season, but his production hasn't been outstanding and he seems to be forgotten. However, Boyd has the skill set to be a very good outside WR. As a bonus, Boyd is also a good return specialist. 3) Deion Jones, LB LSU - Here's a rangy, athletic LB that everyone is demanding. Jones offers a ton of potential and is also a ST ace, which should make him active on game days. However, for those expecting Jones to start, it likely won't happen given his lack of starting experience in college (just one season). His future is bright, as he shows the ability to fly around the field and make plays. He should get back to around 230 lbs to be more effective against the run. 4) Hassan Ridgeway, DT Texas - This is usually where the Bengals go for a DT. Ridgeway is a prototypical 4-3 NT, showing savvy in stuffing the run and commanding double teams. Ridgeway does have some pass rush ability and could be a good heir to Peko starting in 2017. 5) Evan Boehm, C/OG Mizzou - Boehm is a versatile interior OL that fits best at center. He's very strong, durable, and has a meatn streak. To start, he'd be good depth to back up Bodine, Boling, and Zeitler. 6) Willie Beavers, OT Western Michigan - A well-rounded OT who could still play LT in the NFL. He is versatile, has good size and length, and can seal defenders away from the QB. Beavers needs to work out some kinks to be effective in the NFL, but as the fourth OT, he'll have plenty of time to work on that without being needed. 7) Frankie Williams, CB/RS Purdue - Williams is a short but very fluid slot CB that can fill Hall's role. Williams has 10 INTs in his college career (2-3 each year) and is also aggressive in the run game. Williams is also an accomplished return specialist, something that can help get him on the field sooner than later. UDFA: Trevone Boykin, ATHLETE TCU Tre Madden, RB USC Devon Johnson, RB/FB Marshall RE: Feb Mock - ochocincos - 02-11-2016 Oops, thought I was in the Mock Drafts sub-forum. Mods, please move there. Thanks. RE: Feb Mock - TGISunday - 02-11-2016 Boyd would be well worth it for his dual duties as WR and return specialist. Also, I hope we go nowhere near Boykin, udfa or not. RE: Feb Mock - milksheikh - 02-11-2016 This is probably my favorite Mock. Great acquisitons via Free Agency, I like all the pickups and picking up Washington as a vet in case Boyd isn't ready is excellent. This could definately happen... Good job Ocho. |
