Why in the world would the Bengals give up draft picks to move up 1-3 spots when there are 8-10 viable rnd 2 linemen on the board?

I think they are going back potentially...

This second round mock from this morning has us getting Jenkins without trading:

I would soil myself out of happiness if it fell this way tonight.

Problem with the second round though is it's much easier to trade up. We could get leapfrogged at any time.
And I will be stunned if the Dolphins don't take a linemen tonight.
Everything in this post is my fault.

The value is still in defense with the depth at OL. There is a lot of projected 1st round talent sitting there and I think a we will get a run on D, but I do think Jenkins goes before us.

Thats why I said I would be happy if it fell like this. But the good news is, there are a bunch of good O linemen still available. Jenkins just fits so well because he is a RT.

If Teven Jenkins is gone I can see a trade back for Wyatt Davis. I just believe he is a perfect fit for the Bengals.

See I think you can wait until the 3rd for a true guard, just feels like unless we are talking back half of the 2nd it's too early still. To clarify, not to early for a guard in general but rather with as many on the board still.

Don't sleep on us trading back to target Dickerson. He is a very good center/guard albeit with a Munoz type injury history He may not be ready for 2021 either or later in the year which is not good.
High risk/high reward type player
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Jenkins , Radunz and Humphrey are easily my top 3 guys I'd pick in round 2. All 3 look like instant starters wherever u plug them in. Mayfield looks stiff , Dickerson has injury history, Cosmi looks athletic but gets over run and Paul Alexander likes him, the tackle from Notre Dame would be my 4th pick.

I just have him ranked as a prospect as high as guys like Cosmi and Radunz but he is a pure guard which hurts his stock.
Duke loves their Senior Bowl players so potentially Spencer Brown or James Hudson in 3.

I mean Radunz is interesting as a Senior Bowl guy. Some teams are apparently higher on him than others and I wouldn't hate taking him in a trade back in 2.

I would have been much more pleased if they had gotten Sewell at #5 AND Jenkins, Cosmi, or Eichenberg in rd 2.

Hurt alot. He gained like 40lbs of muscle in a couple months when he transferred to Alabama and got on their vitamin program. I'd steer clear. That abnormal vitamin growth and injuries seem to go hand in hand

I am hearing there is a medical flag with his hip. We’ll see.

Ravens and Saints both went developmental edge in the first.
This is the first time in at least 30 years that a DL or 3-4 OLB didn't go in the top half of the 1st round.
This draft class is for sure missing top-end pass rushing talent, but there is a glut of rotational guys who could become good starters in Rds 2-4.
Not sure I'd reach for a DL in Rd 2. I'd get one OL in Rd 2, then see what DL are available in Rds 3 and 4.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

I am 100% in agreement with this. If not Jenkins trade back and get Wyatt, another OT project and an extra pick.
