So I'm a big fan of Carman and as long as the back heals up, I think he'll be a solid guy on the line but he's got to be a guard at the pro level.
Speed rushers really tended to give him a more difficult time, not the guy you want lining up across from T.J. Watt. That being said, inside as a guard, he'll have no issues with the larger bodied guys when he doesn't have to operate as much out in space.

I love the NFL draft but that first round was brutal to sit through.
The first round of the NFL draft drained my soul of life.

If he develops nicely, he could allow us to eventually dump Reader's salary.

Look at it this way. We've done a lot to give Lou his players. If the D stinks, then it'll be so easy (and satisfying) to fire Lou's ass.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm watching PFF. Their top 10 available has one offensive lineman (ranked the 10th best available). No oline pick with last 2 picks is not surprising.
PFF likes Shelvin. He's huge! 88.3 run grade in 2019

This is 100% Lous make or break year. If he can’t get off the field on 3rd down, he shouldnt ever coach in the nfl again

I'm still surprised by 3 defensive line then I remember the Bengals play the Browns and Ravens twice a year. They are a couple of the best running teams in the NFL at the moment.

Have you forgotten the disaster of a DL from last year? As bad as the OL was. How many games did we lose because they couldn't get off the field?

I think that last game of the season where the Ravens ran for like 500 yards on us stuck with them.

Can anyone say who they would of preferred or just ***** for the sake of bitching. We are in the 4th round. You can only draft guys still on the board!!! I like the potential with this draft. You don't get 7 HOFers in every draft. If you get 3 solid starters it was a great draft.

Picking players from my list earlier today so I can’t complain. Please go OL with next pick and hopefully another one later

PFF talking up how great our draft has been. It all depends on who you listen to, honestly. We'll see how all of this goes, and at this point it's kind of just speculation.

We also poured a truckload of money into improving the pass rush and the DL plus a lot of the DL issues were injury related. Sorry but when you have a problematic OL (the starters are ok right now but no depth) and a franchise QB the priority must be OL until you have it truly fixed.
