Story of the first half;
- without the fumbles we’re looking halfway decent
- Ossai and Evans look like good picks far

He had that hold and a couple decent pass pro plays, one solid run block, couple wash run blocks, and then a couple 2 very good goal line blocks one where he buried his guy on a pancake....all in all meh.
D'Ante Smith is looking good so is Billy Price.

The good - Evans and Ossai looking good. Price and the Oline have done fairly well. The D hasn't been giving up 8 yards a carry.
If it weren't for the ugly fumbles I'd be very happy.

Yessir....and really, aside from the fumbles and our new "Toast", team hasn't looked too shabby. Ossai really stood out.

On the TD run I saw him on his belly. I'm rooting for him so we can call him Starman

We always have a horrid CB that somehow plays heavy snaps every year. Last year was BW WEBB

My new running joke for the coaches for this season is “He just needs more time to get his guys in”. For some reason y’all had me dead saying that

He has a lot to work with with his size and strength. Needs to work on his triangular base and foot/shoulder alignment, hence his propensity for being on the ground a lot. I guess the good thing is that it’s not because he’s being overpowered. It’s a technique thing.

Where have I heard that before? “If not for the turnovers, we looked good”. Losing the turnover battle has been concerning for years. This game isn’t doing anything to prove that we’ve gotten better in this regard.
If not for a few questionable calls our way, we likely stall on that last drive. I’m not very impressed with our depth right now on defense or offense. Ossai looks good. I agree with bfine that smith looks better than carman.
Mike Thomas looked good other than the fumble. Perine looked terrible, and fumbled. Evans looked good. That 4th string running back had a nice run. Brandon Allen looked decent, but made a terrible decision to throw that interception. Overall more bad than good. First string defense looked decent though. First string offense moved the ball but Perine fumbled. His showing should put him in a fight for the 3rd running back spot in my mind.

BW Webb wasn’t on the team last year.
