You Can't Fumble 2 Punt Returns And Still Win
#21
They discussed this game on "Moving the Chains" and were amazed that with all the mistakes, the Bengals were right there at the end in overtime against the 49ers. They said it would be one thing to be in a game like that against a bad team, but the 9ers are not a bad team and Garoppolo had one of his best games. They too, wondered why Phillips was not cut Monday morning. Personally, I was thinking someone needed to check a couple of things. 1)His gloves, 2) how well the balls the 9ers were punting were scuffed, and 3) his bank account and gambling debts.

I’d even go as far as to say ONE fumbled punt reduces your chances greatly.

I would actually LOVE to see those numbers. 3 special teams fumbles has to have less than 10% chance of winning.

Said coach hired said returner. Returners are really a dime a dozen in football money so to have a bad one is a self-inflicted wound.

Still, Bengals had a chance to win and didn't. As a team they lost.
