It has to be called that because similar to goetta, I’m sure it’s made with meat scraps (beef hearts and other assorted goodies) mixed with oat groats. It’s more nostalgia for me. Mom would make it for breakfast as a child. I didn’t touch it for years when I found out it had beef hearts.
I was dating a woman from Cincinnati 2 years ago, and she made it for me. Full disclosure, I had another friend who'd had it before, and poisoned the well so to speak... I was told it was nasty before I tried it. It smelled good to me though. I think lil regional things like that are cool though. I hear Gliers ads on the radio up here in Dayton from time to time (could be on wlw though), but I'm not sure I've ever noticed it in stores here.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

When we visit her I see people talking with each other and I just imagine that there are drug deals going down. And sometimes those deals go badly and people start shooting. So I will always be concerned for her safety. But she loves the convenience of living there. She works at P&G and walks to work every day. When she wants to go to the Banks she just hops on the Connector. She has a car but rarely drives anywhere.
Can’t really beat that.

The Hofbrauhouse across the river in Newport is always a fun place to go, but if it's Saturday anytime before 4-5sh is a good time for waiting. It's the 3rd one in the U.S. that was modeled after the original one in Munich.

As mentioned earlier the Newport Aquarium is a shoutout.
At night time the casino in Cincy. There are also restaurants in there too as an option. Haven't ate there yet, but Hard Rock Cafe is there.

I would at least try a chili dog from either Skyline or Gold Star. Gold Star will also be at the game, so you can always try one there.

Flying to Cincinnati since I got tickets to the wild card game. I must try Skyline Chili right?
What are some things to do in the Queen City?
Also don’t know if this is the right section to post it in or not.
Gotta say, Skyline Chili was the most disappointing thing about the city. It's like a plate of spaghetti somebody dropped beans on.
That said, unless I was there for travel soccer, we've always stayed across the bridge in Newport. There's a few restaurants, some shopping, etc., there. Plus, I'm a big fan of aquariums so that was always a bonus. But we only ever stayed for a day or so to catch a game, so it wasn't like we were trying to tour the city.

Newport is where its at... imo
Skyline is hit or miss for people... Its not texas chili its more a meat sauce. Try at least a cheese Cooney... (Bun Hotdog mustard chili cheese and onions (with or without onions))
To get a taste if you dont wanna jump all in with a 3 4 or 5 way lol

Does anyone ever really make special travel plans to go eat fast food elsewhere? I certainly don't. Heck, I'm not like my wife who travels just for the food, but at least she travels to places like Paris, France New Orleans for world renown restaurants, not truck stop chili and spaghetti..

I have an old Whataburger glass coffee mug they used to give away 30-40 years ago.. Old lady I took care of in Arlington gave it to me.. I drink my coffee from it every day and wash it perhaps once a month when it turns black inside.. LOL
Only real men let their coffee mug turn black inside..
Just like this except much more deliciously filthy.. Some things were just meant to be filthy.. LOL

Larosas is only good at Kings Island... as they follow the recipe.
Every where else they are allowed to tinker and it's not even close to the same.
I use to work at snappy back in the day.. we ran out of Snappy sauce and the owner started using some generic brand from Kroger.

Last time I was there I found this cool foodtruck (actually a van) in Newport called "Tube Steak Under the Bridge".
It is not on the menu, but be sure to order it "rawdog style with extra sauce".
