Al Golden (LB coach) to Notre Dame
#1
Well it begins…

Teams are obviously going to start poaching some of our coaches after that Super Bowl run. We’ve already seen both coordinators get interviews, and now Golden (who did a fantastic job with Wilson and Pratt) is headed to South Bend to be the new Irish DC.

I'm thankful we still have Lou we could have number 1 defense in football after next season. Held Broncos to 10, shut Chiefs down in 2nd half. 19,16 24,23 Against high octane Rams and Chiefs and decent Titans and Raiders. not to mention offense is hardly a ball control offense and Zac acts like Staley light with 4th down decisions.

LMAO when a college starts poaching a professional teams coaches ...that's bad, unless it's a head coaching job.   Wouldn't hurt my feeling to see an entirely revamped coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball, esp the DB coach/coaches

What a weird take. The defense was fantastic down the stretch and especially in the playoffs. And a DC job at a school like Notre Dame is obviously a step up from position coach in the NFL.

Our LBs were on point and Wilson especially took a giant leap this year.

Sad to see him go. Hopefully we find a great replacement.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

He also called our 3rd down defense iirc. He will be missed.

Our linebackers were the only defensive position group that was entirely home grown. Al did a great job raising these young men to NFL quality starters. IMO, no position group improved more over last year. Now it is time to see if the babies can fly on their own. Good luck to Al. This is a great opportunity for him

Well, it wasn't a weird take but an absolutely stupid and ignorant take. Not sure if the guy came over from Nigeria and had never watched the NFL or just watched the SB for the commercials.

Good for Coach Golden. Well deserved. Our linebacker room is a real strength & he has a lot to do with it.
