Charles Burks new CB coach?

according to Schefter, Charles Burks, former Dolphins CB coach, has been hired to coach the CBs for the Bengals. No word on what is going on with current CB coach Steve Jackson. One potential option is Jackson moving over to take over the linebackers. But, his entire playing and coaching experience is in the defensive backfield so I don't know about that possible move. Supposedly the Dolphins were set to hold Burks over for the new staff until this move.

Is it still a "lateral" move if you're going from a team that's had 11 different Head Coaches in the last 20 years to a team that just went to the SB? Even if you're technically doing the same job.

Depends on how you look at it. Would you consider it a promotion to go do the same job but for a better company? No, probably not. Would you consider it an upgrade? Yeah, probably.

Maybe with Golden leaving Jackson will be taking over his spot.

Looks to me Burks was not retained by McDaniel and Jackson wasn’t here so they scooped him up. Sounds like he’s Zac’s kinda guy. He’s younger and has a very deliberate teaching method of coaching with tremendous rapport and chemistry with the players.
