Pick 31- Logan Hall?

I have a hard time getting into guys like Hall, Winfrey, or even Karlaftis at 31 this draft. They just don't look like first rounders to my eyes. I could more easily see a player like Ojabo or Bonitto outperforming their draft position over the course of their rookie contract.

At #31 or even trading back into the 2nd round, I hope we could grab a first rounder that dropped as a steal.  Ojabo's injury is significant though.

I hadn't heard anything about Wyatt's domestic violence charges.
Given what Zac Taylor has said they look for in regard to character guys, I would doubt Wyatt would be selected then.

I agree with you on Travis Jones. He's 325-330 lbs.
I think he can be a (really) good NT, but I don't see him becoming a premier pass rushing IDL.
Not a guy I personally would look for if wanting an interior pass rusher.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Yea. Wyatt has had like 4 domestic occurrences. It's unfortunate but too many flags for me.

From what I understand and it is not official, his alleged actions are hard to overlook.  I don't have any details.  It was first raised by Walterfootball.com but not official and it seems private investigators are leaking. There are repeated DV (4 alleged acts)  and I believe most recent occurred in February 2020.

Oh interesting Walterfootball.com has Logan Hall listed as a 3-4 DE with his comp as Michael Johnson. Someone who's going to pick up secondary sacks? I THINK IT'S A SIGN!!!

I'm trying to fall for Logan Hall. He seemed like a risky pick because I just didn't see the hype in the game tape. My top choices look to be gone by 31 so I think Logan is a legit option.

Well shit.  Wyatt has been one of my favorites at 31.  Don't know why my extensive pre-draft research hasn't picked up on this.

No way do I want this scumbag wearing stripes.

Was really wanting Wyatt at 31 but if the rumors are correct then don't see Zac drafting him.

Would have been a perfect fit for Marvin though.

Although believe it said they were misdemeanors though and am not pretending to now the details, so who knows how this plays out.

And no it would not bother me at all to go DT with first pick

So on a podcast the Bengals are really looking to draft a corner at 31. I’d pay real close attention to that position and what the bengals look for from corners.

Bengals have done a good job with their "safe" picks.
Jonah Williams, Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Wilson, McPherson.

They haven't really had any "potential" picks hit yet.

I'd personally prefer them take a safe pick at 31 (and 63).
Save the riskier picks for Rd 3 or later.

1st round is too early for Hall. Too much pressure to perform right away, for a guy that is obviously going to take time to develop enough to hold up versus NFL level talent. Wouldn't mind seeing him in the 3rd-4th round, if the Bengals haven't taken a UT by then.

If this were the Marvin Lewis regime he would still be in play but I think Zac Taylor take Wyatt off their board.

I think it has more to do with the kids having a bigger say in the FO. Mike Brown was Mr "2nd Chance" (Thurman/Henry). Marvin didn't want either.

I am not from Cincinnati.  One of the things that I liked about this team was the way that Marvin and Mike Brown showed extreme grace and patience in working with 2nd,3rd, 4th chance players.  Mike Brown's dwarf-like loyalty was attractive yet a big fault in terms of retaining the wrong people and overpaying mediocre players.  Relationally I think you want to work for a FO like that, but in terms of productiveness it shoots them in the foot.

So I guess the question is, if we are looking for more production and if we have gotten over HANGING ON HARD to everyone..... could Wyatt be given a chance to turn it around or get cut loose?  Seems like this new FO mentality is willing to cut non-producers like Trae Waynes, Michael Jordan.

From profootballrumors.com

While Davis – who finished top-10 in Heisman voting last season – is viewed as a first-round lock, Hall may join him on Day 1. Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network recently reported that the list of teams to have met with him includes the Giants, Cowboys, Texans, Buccaneers, Bears and Titans (Twitter link). His draft ranking places him in a range from late in the first round to early in the second, so the interest from those teams comes as no surprise.

Logan Hall is the highest pre-draft riser if this is true. Jordan Davis has to be taught to be a 3T, Logan Hall is already a 3T. So the projections of us taking him at #31 is very real. If he last till then. Wyatt would be the consolation prize.

Wyatt is also 24 years old.

Would be more than just happy honestly. Best pass rushing DT in this class according to many, just what we need.

He can still get low no matter how tall he is.

Probably flying up my board more than any other player right now. Nice thread Kaiden. Wink

Best fall back guy for us honestly the more I think about it. Imagine us trading back out of the first and still getting Logan Hall...

I really like Travis Jones and Perrion Winfrey but this guy is a better pass rusher no doubt about it and doesn't have off field
issues like Devonte Wyatt has.

I think Winfrey's Senior Bowl will help give confidence in pass rushing ability, but he's in a similar boat as Hall in terms of college production.
Just 5.5 TFLs and 0.5 sack in the shortened 2020 season before coming on with 11 TFLs and 5.5 sacks this past season.

Bengals clearly have an interest in an interior pass rusher.
They've done visits with Logan hall and Perrion Winfrey.
I haven't seen any mention of a visit with Travis Jones.

I think they had Michael Clemons in last week?  8'5 270 maybe could bulk up a little?  I think maybe Josh Pascahl could do it 6'3 278 put on 10-15lbs? he's strong as an ox with some pass rushing ability. I've heard they really like Isaiah Thomas too he is Sam Hubbard size 6'5 265 and they kick him inside some too or used to anyways.
