I know a lot of times he is told to kick it short so they can stop the returner short of the 20, but with Hines taking two back recently in the same game, just bury the dang thing on every kickoff.
Shooter needs to bury it.

I was thinking the same thing. Bengals have good special teams, and seem to relish having opponents starting in the shadow of their goalposts, but this seems to be one of those opponents that can create havoc on kickoff returns.

Good call. Do we think too much of our kick coverge's potential that we think we can consistently shave a few yards off returns? Even if you do this perfectly, it takes one time for this to make you regret it.

No doubt, keep the ball out of Hinez hands. He shown he can be very dangerous in that Patriots game.

Agree 100%. Need to avoid potential big returns. What’s the point of trying to shave off 5 yards in field position when the opposing QB can sling it 70 yards form anywhere on the field.

I agree... I'd say 90% of the cases that we do stop the opponent short of the automatic 25 yard line it's only about 3 - 5 yards difference.
The risk outweighs the reward there unless your hoping for a rare turnover.

If it's snowing decently it may be beneficial to actually kick it short this game. Lots of things can go wrong in bad weather... not sure I've ever seen a kick off return in the snow

My son won a tidy sum on a prop bet that the opening kickoff in the Jax-KC game would be a touchback (apparently you can bet on anything).
I think that would be a good prop bet in this game, as well. Would imagine that Simmons is well aware of who is back there for Buffalo.
