The Bengals put in for it, and the NFL says they would like to have The NFL Draft in Cincinnati maybe by 2027. That would be a big weekend for Cincinnati and Covington restaurants and hotels and fans in the Tri State area.
Source : Spectrum TV News just announced it.

Wonder where the location would be. That Duke Energy Center will have a cool design when renovated.

That would be awesome for Cincinnati
I went last year in Vegas and had a great time. Looking forward to attending another one again.

I was thinking of going to Detroit next year, but if Cincinnati gets a hard date, I'll hold out for that.
I'm not sure we have the caliber of convention center for that type of event, but I'm sure something could be put together before 2027. It would be a win on multiple fronts for the city.

Do we have an outdoor venue in Cincy we could turn into viable location, ala Nashville's draft?

The Banks and the Icon Music Center (or whatever they are calling it) seem ideal if the weather is good.

Basically it looks like they have just started talks with the NFL in hope of hosting the draft in 27, 28, or 29.
Quote from an article posted yesterday:
https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/03/10/visit-cincy-asks-to-host-nfl-draft.html
Quote:Visit Cincy has told the NFL it would like to host the NFL draft in 2027, 2028 or 2029, CEO Julie Calvert said Friday.
Calvert made her remarks at the annual Visit Cincy meeting.
For the NFL, "those are the next open years," Calvert said. "We wanted to sign the documents with the Bengals and let them know now that we're interested."
If the city did win a bid for the draft for those years, the region plans to have finished building a new headquarters hotel downtown by then.
"We feel very confident ... the hotel will be up and operating," Calvert said. "We don't want to wait. Let's move now."
Visit Cincy is the region's convention and visitors bureau. Calvert said the organization had received an encouraging response.
"It was extremely positive," Calvert said. Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn "is well regarded within the NFL, serving on various committees where these big decisions get made."

That would be HUGE!
Don't know what there is to do around Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky to keep that many people occupied, but would definitely be great for the area.
Freedom Center, Zoo, Casino, but what else?
I'm hoping for it and I'll try to get tickets but don't know what kind of crippled seating they'd have.
It will definitely be fitting when we win a Super Bowl or two before then!

They are planning to upgrade the current convention center:

also a few days ago they announed a developer for the construction of the new convention center hotel:

You have several art museums including the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal. You have the Cincinnati Art Museum at Eden Park which is free. The Taft Museum. You have the Newport Aquarium and of course you have Kings Island which does open for some dates in April that would be open when the NFL draft is at the end of April. You have Great Wolf Lodge.

Good call I guess.
I guess this area doesn’t seem anywhere near as loaded with things to do as New York, Chicago, Vegas, or any other big city.
I love this area but just doesn’t seem like a place that a lot of people would want to come.

Keep in mind that Cleveland hosted the 2021 draft and Kansas City is hosting this year's draft. The 2024 draft is in Detroit. So nothing is implausible.

If those cities could host it, I'm sure a nursing home could host it

I'm wondering what kind of crippled seating they'll have, especially for the first round!
I'm also wondering if I could find a way to let them let me announce a pick with my communication device! I think that would be legendary!

How many people does the NFL draft attract? According to this article regarding KC and Nashville it could be 350,000 to 600,000. That sounds too high to me but what do it know.

If they do get the bid we should create a party to represent the board.

I started this thread and now want to add 2 things. I think there is plenty for The NFL in the Cincinnati & Covington area, so that is not a problem. I think it would be better than when in New York. Also, I think since Southern and West coast cities get most of the Super Bowls, I think it's only fair that open air stadium cold weather cities get the NFL Draft in late April. They should not have the Draft in Vegas or any place they might have The Super Bowl, and let cities who don't get the Winter Super Bowl have the Late April NFL Draft. Cincinnati, Green Bay and places NFL would never have a Winter Super Bowl. Why should the Southern and West Coast and Domed Stadium cities get everything ? Cincinnati has did great jobs of the MLB All-Star Game, and The Ohio River of Bengals Stadium, Reds Stadium & Museum, The basketball and hockey arena next to them would be a beautiful Ohio, Kentucky setting off the Ohio River for the NFL Draft. If it's not raining. have the whole thing outdoors in the stadium, with back-up plans if forecast is for rain. I live in the Ohio to Kentucky area and take exception that this is not a good area for the NFL Draft, it is a beautiful area for the NFL Draft. You might as well be saying it's not a good area to even have the Reds or Bengals.
I'll add that Tampa gets The Super Bowl, and I've been to the Clearwater, St Pete, Tampa area many times and love it, but Cincinnati of Ohio & Kentucky have as much to offer as Tampa area who gets Super Bowls. I love living in Reds and Bengals Country and much like Jack Lemmon movie the Out Of Towners, I wouldn't want to live in New York. Of course I think I have it great, I drive by horses and cows and corn fields to go to the store, which to me is better than when I lived in the city. But there is plenty on the banks of the Ohio River for an NFL Draft in Cincinnati & Covington area. Did I say, I LOVE BENGALS AND REDS COUNTRY.

Also, in 2027, draft weekend would probably coincide with Kentucky Derby weekend. A short 1 hour and 30 minute drive to Louisville.
