Yep. This is telling. Also sounds like we are standing by Irv Smith Jr staying healthy and Joe Mixon coming back...
Neither of which makes me happy and we aren't trading the guy who wanted to be traded if I wanted to be a salty *****.

Also yea we drafted some DBs last year and lost both starting safeties, a starting CB, and our top CB is coming back from major injury.
But sure why would we want DBs?
I like Battle as a prospect but the path to him seeing the field on defense is murky with Dax Hill and Nick Scott already in the lineup for up to 3 years which is most of Battle's rookie contract they could possible be drafting a 4 year special teams player at 92.

Battle was a good value pick at the end of round 3 but the Bengals have Hill and signed Scott to a 3 year deal. Yea the more I look at this it looks like they tried to squeeze a little extra and screwed themselves.
Lou seemed to think he'd be getting another guy in rd 3 and it looks like tons of teams had Washington off the board due to injury concerns.
Seems like they didn't really want Washington but who knows.

I dont like Korsak. I think one of the reasons he has been successful is he rolls out to his right and waits to kick the ball which allows his guys to already be 15-20 yards down the field before the ball ever comes off his foot. That isnt going to work in the NFL. Turk would be the guy I would go after. Big leg and more hangtime than the other punters.

Love the Battle pick. I was a huge Washington fan, but there's a reason he fell so far. There was news that came out today that further degraded Jalen Carter's character. Maybe we just don't know, but it doesn't stop us from bytching

I'm just saying that I think we are gonna be alright without Washington. Pretty sure that you would agree with that.
I mean was Aaron Hernandez bad because he was the 2nd TE behind Rob Gronkowski?

Washington works well for pitt because he will always be TE2 there with Friermuth
Washington would have to be TE1 when Irv leaves next year or predictably gets hurt, and he isnt a TE1

Looks like the rest of the league values the TE position.

Hernandez ended up killing it if I remember correctly.

Yea he was a pretty bad person, I don't think it's because he was the 2nd TE behind Grobk but I can't be sure.

Well if Smith doesn't work out, next year's FA class doesn't look too bad.

Not trading Jonah is the one thing from this draft that has been upsetting.
Been some teams that had a need at tackle, and getting another pick for a disgruntled player is a win and a should be done kind of thing.

We have drafted 5 DBs the last two years.
S: Hill (1st), Anderson (5th, traded up), Battle (3rd)
CB: CTB (2nd, traded up), Turner (2nd)
Not complaining about any of those guys.
I cannot say we do not value trenches, given we drafted a DE Rd1 and our 4 starters make $50 million per. On O, we landed Brown in FA & Jonah & Collins make $21 mil between them and Carman is a 2nd.
I find it weird I wanted Jones so badly, I've been banging the table about OT not being a big need for weeks. Just thought he & Washington were great value. I was OK with Hurst last year, IDK about Smith staying healthy. And I loved the fact that Washington is a great blocker. He fits well with Smith, or would have.
Still, I hope Battle balls out.

Jonah is obviously the plan at RT for this year. They must not have liked anyone available enough to pencil them in as a starter.

You, sir, are a cad AND a scoundrel. You obviously do not know the face of a gentleman bandit when you see one. One could easily mistake Moody for the great Doc Holiday.

His background is in Aussie football. Best directional kicker by a ton. Guys roll right all the time in the NFL.
But Turk is fine with me, too.

Were they great value?
You are ignoring why they fell.
