I respect that Mike gives full control to his staffs but damn bro, our o line hasn’t cut it and it’s really the only thing holding the offense back from being insane

The guy that kept Paul Alexander around 10 years too long?

Interesting. I was happy to have the guy back, but the results are awful. At least Piano Man was decent with pass blocking. Pollack has been terrible with both the pass pro and the run game.

The team has thrown a great deal of money at players that certainly have a history of performing better under other coaches. This line should be above average, not league leading but above average, and its not. Time and time again they let up a huge sack at key points in the game. We cannot get rid of the players so the coach is the thing that has to go. I know I'm certainly ready to move on from the guy that has show during three winning season that his area of oversight has continually been the Achilles heal of the team.

Sooner, that's a defensive stat. Opponents yards per rush. Cincinnati was 24th in offensive YPC this year, 29th last year and 24th in 2021.

I think that I see the problem here.  You're posting defensive stats pertaining to yards allowed, when everyone else is talking about the OL and rushing yards gained.

You are right. I’ve been responding to shake n bake and in his original post he didn’t say offense or defense. Of course the thread is about Pollack. Should have realized that. Yes the OL sucks and Pollack. Said this for 2 years

If Pollack is back next year, I do hope we see a new backfield with Chase Brown involved a lot more with his speed, a new left guard, and better playcalling/schemes to keep the defenses more on their heels.

Who pollack developed?
I feel like our oline started to get better not cuz he was coaching the guys but cuz we finally invested some
Money in it. Cappa was an upgrade Orlando was an upgrade Karras was an upgrade. That’s not pollack that’s better players
Pollack is bad. He needs to no go.

Yeah, made me shake my head reading that. Duke and the Blackburn's need to step in and add a top mind at OL coach.

Pollack hasn't gotten it done and Mikey Boy would probably bring back his buddy in PA if it was up to him.

I swear I'm not trying to be contentious here, but I trust Pro Football Reference far more than "teamrankings.com". I've never even heard of that site and I'm an old school stats nerd.

I just checked ESPN stats, and they match up with PFR for all 3 seasons.

Your links all say "opponent YPC". Is that the rankings for our defense?

Yes I mentioned earlier your post made no mention of offense or defense. Realizing it was a thread about Pollack I realized I wasn’t cognitive. And I agreed Pollack is bad . I’ve been on that page for 2 years.

We could be on our way to winning our 3rd straight SB with Bill Callahan. Biggest mistake thus far for Zac. And the relationship is there... Soon as Washington fired him they should have let Turner go.

I'm pretty sure Pollack is the OL coach preferred by Duke, Katie, and Troy. If Zac got his choice, he'd have the FO get creative and find a way to get Callahan out of Cleveland. He was Zac's #1 target when he got here in 2019.

God one could only wish. He has a great track record with how he shapes and schemes OL. That would be too good to be true and we will be stuck with Mr Glass Eater continuing to hold this offense back.

The way these team continues to not hold coaches accountable just pisses me off. It’s so frustrating because they’ve been given a Ferrari (Burrow) and they should respect that opportunity enough to be evaluating how to get BETTER every single offseason! Pollack has not shown well in ANY AREA. How in Gods name do u sell bringing him back? He is the reason we aren’t Super Bowl champs. I really hope shit like this dies when the old man dies. I’m so tired of missplaced loyalty with this organization.

I don’t think that’s correct. Although Zac has a very high regard for Bill the dynamics of bossing your old coach and his son also be over you as OC is too risky of a dynamic. Plus they couldn’t hire him unless a promotion according to NFL policy unless Cleveland approved and they wouldn’t have.

They could have fired Turner after his first year and brought in Callahan when he wasn't under contract to anyone (after Washington cleaned house). They dropped the ball.

Are we really going to draft a whole new set of Oline prospects (RT, G, C) just to let Pollack ruin them? If Pollack stays, I say we do not invest any further in the Oline. Role with who we have and sign a stop gap RT.

I don't want to see another 3 wasted Oline picks.

I've been probably one of the biggest Volson haters on this board, but he's actually been solid the second half of this past season.

In the last 7 games (after @BAL), Volson has had:
Just 1 sack allowed
Just 8 total pressures allowed
PFF pass blocking grade of 70+ in all but 2 of those games, 55-59 in the other 2.

The OTs were worse than the IOL down the stretch.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
