I'm looking forward to seeing the value of the deal. Assuming we didn't go overboard (I'd set that bar at about 5M AAV), this is a fantastic signing.

Definitely one of the things I wanted us to do this Offseason. Drew actually grew into a really good player last year, best blocking TE
in the NFL at one point. He also impressed me a few times in the passing game which surprised me. Love having Drew line up in the
backfield and blocking, dude gained a lot of muscle last year and doesn't get pushed around unlike in the past.
Nice move in giving Drew Sample an extension. Also for bringing back Hudson.

Our Mark Bruener stays with the team. Super stoked, his blocking was so invaluable last year and his TDs were things of beauty, for a guy as stiff as him lol

I like it as well. That seems like a fair contract for both parties.

Yeah I'll take that rate, still need a starter though and the drdraft isn't that deep.

He's TE1 as of this minute.
Agreed, good deal for TE2 and he better end up as TE2.

Yup
I can handle him at that price as #2 and Hudson as # 2 1/2
Now go get #1

I'd enjoy Bowers/Sample/Hudson for the '24 Bengals TE room.

I expect to see more of him lined up in the backfield next to the QB in shotgun. Screw a small pass blocking RB.

As a backup TE, he's fine.
Just hope we see a good pass catching TE added as well.
Bring on Noah Fant or re-sign Hudson at least!
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Little doubt he was going anywhere. Seems like a reasonable contract.
Doesn't mean we don't need a #1 TE.

There wasn't a huge demand for Drew Sample
On the FA market. It's funny how this front office
Is signing backups right out the gate for pennies
Yet isn't trying sign playmakers like Tee Higgins

Oh yeah, talk about improved if Brock Bowers somehow falls to us and we pick him. We have to add a RT and DT in FA first though.

That was actually working really well late last season in both protecting Browning and in the run game when we did run it.
Will be exciting seeing this with a healthy Burrow.

I imagine any possible contract talks with Higgins are much, much more complicated than Sample's.
