2.People indeed stick around ( delay retirement ) because of money issues and other personal reasons
3. How do you know how much " they can possibly spend " ?
4.Your criteria for doing XYZ may be totally different . We are all the same but part of being human includes uniqueness.

Not everybody cares about a title.  Obviously ,the league knows his value ,due to the interest he is receiving.
Maybe he is happy with his situation.  I'm glad he is staying .He has done a good job. And as far as recognition , the interest he is receiving is recognition.

You're right, they continue coaching and working 100 hours per week because they need the money.  Not like most of them couldn't go get a cushy job as an announcer if they really need the money though, right??

It's the same reason that Wall Street guys, who literally make billions, keep working.  It's who they are, it's what makes them good at what they do, and able to accomplish things that most other people can't.  Is this always the case?  No.  Is it most often the case?  Yes.  This really is not difficult to comprehend.

When you have a job that allows you to do everythng you enjoy doing exactly the way you enjoy it being done and the people around you also share in that vision. Why would you want to leave for a title? Isn't his dad a scout for us as well? I mean how cool is that .... He works with his dad in a job he loves with an insane amount of stability.

To those who wonder why Tobin isn't a GM:

He's in the best possible position. Low key, makes GM decisions that are recognized internally and hidden from the public. Gets props and acknowledgement internally, doesn't receive the blame from the public when something goes wrong. Does not have to answer to the media, like a GM would have to do.

I was legit wondering about this before even coming into this thread. 

I wonder what Duke's salary is, and if it is comparable with some of the GMs out there.
