Michael had been signing one-year contracts up through that year, meaning he would no longer be with the Bulls, so why didn't he and Phil just go sign with another team?
You're telling me that almost every other NBA franchise wouldn't be throwing crazy amounts of money at them?
One or two of the other players released could have also kept more of the team together.
