- DT Kris Jenkins; what a difference a week makes. After the 30.1 PFF in Week 1 he posted a 75.2 PFF in Week 2.
- Dax Hill posted a 64.1 and DJ Turner a 64.4. But considered they each only had 6 plays it is pretty academic.
- C Matt Lee posted a 68.0 total with an 84.2 pass blocking score.
- Trayvon Williams and Noah Cain posted scores of 69.2 and 58.8 respectively. Both were in the high 70s / low 80s pass blocking and the big difference was pass receiving (64.1 to 83).
- LT Jason Kirkland like Matt Lee got a lot of snaps. Like Matt Lee he also graded high (overall 73.2 pass block 86.9).
Nice to see a bunch of prospects showing promise.

I was hoping someone would post the PFF scores.
I really liked what I saw out of Kirkland. There was a particular play where he was blocking a dude in and then saw a blitzer coming wide. He "handoff" was smooth.
Too often I see Olinemen release the inside guy too soon or too late.
And of course, I'd like to see Lee push Cordell.

Kirkland looked good enough game 1 at LG to hopefully push Volson. Who’s getting the solidifies starter treatment…..

Johnson has the motor. He just needs to finish. He’s making a push for the 53.

TY for this info. I would add Jenkins was playing against the Bear starters who have an additional preseason game.
I thought Kirkland had a good night and makes me feel better about OT position.
Lee may push Hill to the PS or off our team. But Hill is also a backup guard so not likely.
I thought Williams showed some flashes, but to me he will never be a RB to be feared by any defense.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Didn't Volson have a high PFF ranking against TB week 1?
Is it possible Volson is becoming a good LG in year 3?
God forgive one of our whipping boys in the forum getting better making a lot of posters look very bad.
I say check your ego and root like hell Volson is great in 2024.

Its not surprising to see good PFF grades for Kirkland, Lee, Jenkins. Those guys were talked about as looking good against the Bears. I thought Njongmeta had another good game too although not as good as the 1st preseason game. These guys did this against the Bears 1st team so its not like they went up against a bunch of scrubs. Its nice to see some potential quality depth.

Definitely good to see the backup oline playing well. Looks like we might actually have some really good depth there. I saw Carmans snaps were pretty limited and I'm thinking this is it for him not a shocker. I saw that Njongmeta had a good 1st game so was keeping somewhat of an eye out for him. Pumped seeing people call out his play after the game with clips. Although he posted a 29pff score so he must have been getting out of position some. Overall really liking were we are at right now. Still a little worried about the Dline and would really like to get a veteran run stuffer before the season. Getting really excited for this season and hopefully we get off to a hot start with our early schedule.

It's irresponsible, but I am so hyped for Matt Lee to be our starting center in 2025. He was called a steal when we got him, one of those picks where people said, "Wait....why the hell is he still available? He should have gone 3 or 4 rounds ago" and, in this limited sample size, he has lived up to the hype.

I thought it was a mistake when we picked him because I figured he had been picked a few rounds earlier.
I can't wait for him to be our starter and think we'll finally have someone to block the nose tackles of the division.
Hopefully he can be our best starter since Rich Braham.
Hats off to the front office!

I was unable to watch the game this weekend. Did Jackson Carmen not play? I don't see any notes/news about him.

I thought Meta had a much better game vs the Bears. Most of his tackles in the first game were past the line of scrimmage. Vs the Bears he made big time stops behind the line of scrimmage, he destroyed 2 blockers to stop a screen play, and most importantly he made big plays on special teams.
I love Lee, but we extended Karras for next year so Lee in 2026-27 most likely.

Matt Lee was the favorite pick by a lot of analysts/draft gurus.
The fact that he is backing that up with really good game play/practices is huge.
This draft has the potential to be a HUGE lift for this team. If even 2-3 of these guys (Burton, Lee, Mims, Njongmeta, Newton, Jenkins) become good starters, that's an absolute win.
The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy
