Just brutal. Glad to finally be done with it.
YES
He had one good game or maybe two?? The Buffalo game and whatever other one and the entire rest of his snaps have been poop on a stick. It's always seemed to me like his heart was never really in it.

Zac wasn’t the one picking him.I’m sure he had a say. But most think that’s who Mike Brown wanted
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Right, but like I said, they wasted the picks they got for the trade back anyway. The whole thing was a disaster. And there’s plenty of blame to go around.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it wasn't Mike Browns call. While I think he's probably still involved in contracts. I'll take his word for it that he has stepped back and tries to stay out of the coaches ways. Atleast I hope so. I wonder if we didn't put a little too much stock in what an outsider said about Carman like a Paul Alexander perhaps. Hopefully we've changed up our drafting profile of Offensive lineman as high athletic scores seems to really translate into career success.

Ive heard from multiple sources, one being a player, that it absolutely was Mike Brown's call and was an issue of contention amongst many in the building.

Well he would've had to have gotten a ringing endorsement from someone not seeming likely that he would be scouting the players himself. Maybe somebody liked him in the organization and he backed them. But we seem to have drafted guys who tested well athletically this year which is something we have not done recently for some reason. Hopefully that's a trend that continues.

Honestly, I do not buy that. This team has done so many things in the past 5 seasons un Mike like that I doubt that he would randomly involve himself in the draft. I believe he hasn't been involved in personal since 2010 and Duke took over the drafts.
I think what happened is they were spooked by the Ghost of Billy Price and avoided drafting Creed Humphrey. People forget but before Price tore is shoulder at the combine he was projected to be a top 15 pick.

I know they weren’t happy with someone who wasn’t straight with them. Not sure it wasn’t someone at Clemson but could have been Willie or Alexander.

I was just looking up what Prices RAS score was but he looks like he didn't test because of the shoulder probably. But I stumbled on an article about teams drafting of players and they're average RAS scores in different positions. It said in the article that Duke Tobin was given more control and became the defacto GM in 2016. It said we've drafted 10 OLineman since 2017 with an average RAS score of 5.5 out of 10. Only 2 scored more than 6.6. Now obviously that changed this year with Mims and Lee but still pretty head scratching and curious as to what they're approach is to drafting that particular position.

Casear knows what he’s talking about.

My contact in the building and the players seemingly know what they are talking about. But you have every right to not believe it. I dont think any of us want to......
I will say they are not "scared off" of any pick due to a previous player at that position. Look at John Ross then Chase.

Chase was much bigger than Ross, had one of the greatest college seasons ever, and already had an established relationship with Joe. I don't really think it was the same thing.
I don't doubt that you heard what you heard. I just think it's weird that when anything goes wrong it's Mike Brown's fault and when it goes right it's none of his. It's just a convenient excuse when the FO messes up.
The fact is the Bengals have been burn by smaller Centers with a lack of arm Length dating back to Bodine.

He’s much much less involved but Mike had some friends pushing Carman.

Of course Mike wanted him, because Mike can't tell the difference between his asshole and a football. It always gives me a chuckle when i thing of Paul Alexander talking about his convo with Mike and being surprised when Mike asked him about Carman right off the bat. The chuckle is usually followed by a thought of 'what a dumbass'.

Ok here's my attempt:
Offense:
QB- (2) Burrow, Browning
RB- (4) Moss, Brown, T.Williams, Sample FB/HB
WR- (6) Chase, Higgins, Iosivias, Burton, Irwin, Jones
TE- (4) Gisicki, All, Hudson, Mclachlan
OT- (4) O.Brown, Mims, T.Brown, Kirkland G/T
G- (3) Cappa, Volson, Ford G/T
C- (2) Karras, Lee
25 offense
Defense:
DE- (5) Hendrickson, Hubbard, Ossai, Murphy, Johnson
DT- (5) Rankins, Hill, Jenkins, Carter, Tufele/Mckinley (IR)
LB- (4) Wilson, Pratt, ADG, Bachie,
CB- (6) CTB, Hill, Turner, Hilton, Newton, Davis/ Ivey(IR)
S- (5) Bell, Stone, Battle, Anderson, Anthony (ST player hybrid role) I think Simmons gets this guy for the new kickoff rule.
Defense 25
Special Teams:
K- MMAC
LS- Adomitis
P- Robbins
TE and RB is the only area that I could see us making an addition via cuts. McLachlan/Hudson could be gone to PS. I do see us a little weak on the Dline, maybe someone becomes available.

I wonder if DJ Turner, Fig Newton, and Daijahn Anthony all getting snaps in the nickle will make Jalen Davis a little more expendable.

But Pollack wants "Glass Eaters"...
I honestly think it's an overreaction to the failure of Ogbuehi and Fisher, who were both athletic T's.

Just another metric.. i would not put all weight on it... for example Brady I think scored below a 2 , QB is a different position but i read where someone scored a 10 and played 19 games in NFL.. There is a reason many teams every year have draft picks on the Oline that don't work out.. but i agree our record past 10 years has been bad.. probably in top 10.. Tobin should be blamed but also Pollack he should have more influence than others since he has been here.
