But that, and the missed FG...and we tie.
I can't get over the fact that they scored TD's EVERY time they had the ball except 1. (Excluding the 22 seconds or whatever they had the ball before the half.)
I thought the Bengals defense would adjust the second half, but they were just as bad.

I think our defense got up for KC. And I think we gameplanned better.
I think that against Wash, they thought easy win.
True they didn't and the Chiefs seem to have started slow despite the record... but I would say we have consistently for years now, had answers for Mahomes that nobody else has seemed to have.

The refs also missed the call on Dax on that last TD catch. Mclaurin caught it anyway, but Dax tackled him before he touched the ball. He just happened to still make the play.

Lou has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know but how does the Defense play like they did last night & Jordan Battle get zero snaps. And it's not all on Bell but zero snaps make zero sense to me. Tell me how I'm wrong.

I'm thinking Battle must be hurt.

They’d have to list him on the injury report if he was.

Depends on the severity. If he Can play, they don't have to. Most every player is injured at some point in the season. There's a reason he is not only not playing for Bell, but that Anthony is now in front of him. From what I can tell, Battle's play did not fall off. I suspect he's nursing something that may not keep him from playing, but hobbles him in some form or fashion.

This isn't quite accurate, no. Simply being able to play doesn't mean he doesn't have to be listed on the report.
Quote:Some injuries are automatically reportable because they result in the player’s unavailability or limited availability to the club. These include any injury that:
(a) causes the player to miss a game;
(b) prevents the player from finishing a game;
© causes the player to miss a practice (Did Not Participate);
(d) limits the player’s participation in practice (Limited Participation);
or (e) prevents the player from finishing a practice (Limited Participation).
Other injuries may be reportable because of their effect upon the player’s performance despite his continuing availability to the club. As one example, assume a club’s quarterback suffers an injury to a finger of his right (throwing) hand during the club’s first game of the season. After treatment, he is able to finish the game despite his injury. Given the injury’s effect upon the player’s performance, and the fact that he is a key player, the injury must be listed on the club’s Practice Report each day of the following week, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the club is certain that he will play in the club’s next game.
If Battle isn't being listed on the report then that means he isn't injured in any notable way. It doesn't prevent him from any portion of practice, doesn't miss practice for rehab, his performance isn't affected etc.
He isn't injured, he's just left out of the rotation for some reason.

Tee is gone, Ja'marr is about to take a lot of money - I don't see how the Defense is going to get better with less cash to go around.
Not our decision anyway but it seems like Mike Brown is still playing with his old equation, QB, WR, RB --> make some money, give false hope, our business is successful.
Mahomes is playing like shit and they are 3-0. Do we depend on Burrow to put up 35 a game, or do we depend on the Defense? Defense carries.
I would trade Chase (1st & 2nd + a player(defensive)), sign Tee(3 year, 84 Million, 60 million guaranteed) and sign a major DT either Milton Williams, Alim Mcneill, Bobby Brown, or Osa Odighizuwa to a major contract.(4 year, 84 Million, 40 Million Guranteed)

The 2024 defense is historically bad; I mean 1990s-level bad. I was at the game last night and I watched the coverages and there were no adjustments made at all. That Washington rookie tore Lou’s secondary a new anal cavity and he did it with ease. That was an epic fail.

Whats crazy to me is Lou used to make those halftime adjustments and the D would ball out on second half....not so much anymore. Looks like Marv ball now

Jayden Daniels had an average time to throw of 3.13 seconds. That should tell you all you need to know about the defense.

Bengals sucked enough to get Burrow, then get his knee destroyed to get Chase. They are great. Everyone else? Most hovering at average or below, with a few flashes here and there. Bengals, in pads and behind desks, are the same as ever.

It was always a problem that his defenses HAD to make those halftime adjustments.
We all remember how amazing the adjustments were in 2021 both times to shut down Mahomes and hold the Chiefs to 3 in the second half of the games to get those Ws.... but every time we talk about that nobody ever seems to remember that those halftime adjustments had to happen because we gave up 28 in the first half of the first game and 21 in the first half of the AFCC.
You don't need magical second half adjustments if you don't give up 3-4 TDs in the first half.

Got to be on the hot seat surely. We've been incredibly bad at times under him.
trey has been his kryptonite basically every single time. reid refused to double trey and even subbed out his LT. everyone else just doubles trey. hindsight is 20/20

Battle is the starting upback on the punt team. He also starts on kickoff return and coverage. He has not missed a special teams snap this season.

Yeah true, Trey (and the D-Line tbf) seem to have big games against KC. Reid is a great coach though, so you would've thought the Chiefs would've figured out how to deal with the Bengals bad defence by now. That said, I do think our unit plays above themselves as well.
