I'm assuming tomorrow we hear about Murphy and/or Jackson
#1
Tomorrow should be a big day for the DL. Murphy SHOULD be back. Jackson MAY be back. Hill MAY be back. I also assume Jenkins moves up in rotation to start. I'm kinda hoping if they have to do their 5 front it is: Murphy - Hubbard - Jenkins - Hill/Guy - Trey. Or something to that effect. It puts someone outside of Sam so as to minimize the hamstring effect. If Jackson is also back then he slides into the Guy slot?

Sure hope we get Murphy and BJ Hill back. Both are decent run stoppers and we will need that against the Ravens.

Just because they are eligible to come back doesnt mean they are ready to come back. You dont want to rush any of these guys and lose them even longer. I dont think we see Jackson, Murphy or Hill this Sunday. The best chance sounds like Murphy might be able to go

Teams have been announcing today players who were on IR will have limited practices or practices. I hope we have guys that are ready, but more than likely these guys may need the full 3 weeks to get ready or at least 2 weeks.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Myles has been working pretty heavily on the rehab field for the last couple of weeks, so hopefully, with a week's practice, he will be good to go. Jackson, as Lou pointed out, was injured early in training camp so he may need a couple of weeks of practice just to get the feel of the defense again.

Zac said on Monday he would open the 21-day window Wednesday or so

I'm really hoping that Murphy is going to take a big step this year. He has the physical attributes that you want from a DE. Our pass rush other than Hendrickson is pretty awful, so having a decent #2 back there will actually be huge for the defense. Hill will be a welcome shot in the arm as well. The defense won't be so ass if we get those two back. Now, Rankins I'm not too sure if he'll be back this week, but if he is that's huge as well.

I was listening to the Growler and Paul Dehner Jr mentioned that Hill was trying to play this past Sunday, so I really hope he makes that leap to playing this coming Sunday.

We're gonna need him.

I feel like Zac felt confident in the team to beat Carolina without Hill, making sure he was 100% for Baltimore.

Cam Sample is also a good run defender. He was taking snaps from Trey in the Baltimore/Hubbard TD PO game. He will be missed this week as well.

I will guess and say BJ Hill is back. Murphy as well, and Myles takes the open spot on the 53.

Jackson & Rankins will need more time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Murphy's injury originally only supposed to keep him out around 2-3 weeks of the regular season? And that they only put him on IR for the roster spot as well as not having to rush him back early (plus we were playing only 1 good team in the first 4 weeks)?

If I am indeed recalling correctly, I would expect Murphy to play this week, though I imagine he'll probably still be on limited snaps due to conditioning issues and the lack of practice time.

Hill and Murphy back would help a lot.

Despite Hendrickson possibly playing, they need Murphy somethin fierce in the pass rush.
I want to see Hubbard inside more.
His snaps inside increased last game, playing 10 snaps out of 56. That's up from 7 the week before, and just 1 the week before that.

Hill back to go along with Jenkins would be a big boost.
Tufele and Guy are ok fill-ins as well-rounded guys.
Unfortunately Carter isn't showing much of anything now in his 3rd season, which is when most guys should be blossoming by.
He can be a weekly inactive or even cut once Hill, Rankins, and Jackson come back. Guy or Tufele can cover 5th DT no problem.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

He was drafted to contain Lamar. We need his athleticism on the DL big time.

This is correct. He will play. They knew what they were doing when the firs game back from his IR stint was against the Ravens.

Honestly, I would expect them to use the entire 21 day window with him. He's been out for a long time and will need every bit of that time to get back into football shape.

All right!

Now it becomes a matter of how fast they can get back into playing readiness. We needed the shot in the arm on the line. We also need BJ to be able to play.
