Brad, Mayer hasn't done much in the NFL to warrant your enthusiasm for him coming to the Bengals. He's currently on a 'bust' track as a pro player.

I'm not buying that Mayer is having difficulty adjusting to the "big city."
Vegas metro has about the exact same population as Cincy - 2.25 mill people. For those who haven't been to Vegas, it's pretty much like Nashville - There's a part of downtown with all the touristy stuff but outside of that it's a regular smaller city. When I went there in November last year, it was very different vibe just a couple blocks off the strip and especially if you got into the suburbs. Felt like a regular city like Nashville, Cincy, or Columbus. In fact, when looking at biggest US cities by metro pop... 27 - Pittsburgh 29 - Vegas 30 - Cincy 32 - Columbus 33 - Cleveland 34 - Indy 35 - Nashville https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_statistical_area Just stay away from the glitz and glamor of the casinos and he should be fine.

Hudson for Mayer straight up.
I wonder if this is why they took Bowers. They may have known something was off with Mayer even if pundits didn't and thus questioned the "surprise" pick. Quote:"Success doesn’t mean every single move they make is good" ~ Anonymous |
